I saw in some skate mags that there is this new grip tape company that is making jokes about the shortys people and black magic, anyone know the name of the company?

In a couple ads, Black magic was making fun of black hole grip (the one with the holes)

Do you mean the Almost ad's where they drilled aload of holes in a deck? If you do well then it's 'Almost'.

No, black hole grip... It's got little holes in the actual grip to prevent air bubbles and such.

When I have time, I'll scan it and post it.

Something about "Good grip and holes make this fine life easier."

is there really that much of a difference in gripatape? i mean as long as it stays stuck to the board and all the sand crap on top doesnt fall off i dont see what the difference is

its all a matter of how your feet stick to the deck and how your shoes catch it. i myself prefer iron horse.

It just comes down to personal preference, the holes dont hurt anyone or anything ;). I like my Mob, but I just get whatever the store has for me that isnt generic sandpaper crap.

Yeah... Almost has boards with holes in it for aerodynamic-ism...

Not really. Some grip tends to tear off a lot easier than others. Some grip tends to lose its grit faster than others.

I dunno, I classify that as "generic sandpaper crap". I'll bet that if you ask everyone here which out of Mob, BM, Jessup, or Iron Horse was the best, you'd get a mixed bag of cake. It comes down to asking what's the best, and how do we test it fairly?

I don't know a lot about griptape, and I've only tryed out a few, but all the 'real' stuff I've tryed (Jessup, Mob, BM) on friend's boards was useably decent to my unhoned beginner senses ;).
