Lately Ive been thinking about getting a laptop but Im not sure what I want yet. I was really thinking about going for an ibook. I have a nice desktop for gaming so I thought a an ibook would be sweet but I havent used macs in a long while and they are kinda pricey. Any suggestions?

I have an ibook and it's great (on it right now), I recommend pretty much any mac.

I have a dell. it was pretty cheap, and its a few years old and still running great.

i'm anti-mac, so i'm not going to suggest one.

I'm personally not an Apple fan because they're about twice as expensive as PCs which is a major difference for students. A PC can run 1000x more applications and basically all the same ones a Mac can - and you'll get a faster system for the same price as a Mac if you get a PC, with more features.

I have a Toshiba Satellite and I LOVE it. Very good system, had it for about a year now. Pentium 4 2.8 GHZ, 512 RAM, 60 gig hard drive, Radeon intergrated graphics, CD burner-dvd reader combo drive, wireless g.... 15.5" monitor. It's a great system and I'd recommend Toshiba to anyone...

Compaq is crap - don't go there.

Sony is nice but very pricey.

Dells are alright but I wouldn't personally buy something you can play with first.....

Thanks for the input. I already know not to get a compaq (total crap) and my friend just got an awesome Toshiba fully loaded for 1700. It's really nice but its ment for gaming and is huge. I'm looking for something a little more portable because I already have a good gaming desktop. I deffinatley don't want to go pentium either. I was looking at the sonys and they are nice but they are indeed pricey.

I guess I'll keep looking around.

Try checking out Future Shop and Best Buy - they have some very small laptops available these days!

I heard he got put in rehab for smoking too much herb.

I have a few friends w/ Toshibas that LOVE them. go to best buy, test a few out, and then go online and order one cheaper.
