Creed's first CD is really good for lyrical content etc. and Mark Tremonti is one of the best guitarists out there right now, but Scott Stapps voice come Human Clay was just horrible.

Bad Brains never really were a full-out emo band. They kinda touched it lyrically in a few songs, but for the most part, they were a hardcore band, and then more of a rasta band in their Soul Brains days. But yeah, Fugazi and Grey Matter are examples of original emo.
