I had a pair of G5's about 5-6 years ago. They were good. Kingpin never broke but they seemed to wear down quick over the axle. If the kingpin does break you have to buy a Grind King replacement though. Also I liked the allen head instead of a nut on the top of the king pin. Hope that helps

That price seems high check

grind kings get loose really easy, plus they wear down like everyone said

spenser
05-08-2005, 05:49 AM
yeah, mids are almost impossible to find. but our shop had some, and theyre 8" too, so they fit my 8.25" boards. but yeah, if you cant find mid, just pick one. i really liked my lows. and its only a 1/4 inch difference anyway. you can just put in risers if you want the lows to be more normal. so actually, i think low is the way to go, because you can make them higher.

yeah, if you get mids and put risers on them they are almost highs, so get lows and put risers on them to make them more like mids. thunders should be coming any time this week guys. i got the brown/black ellington pro

ok... ok.. one quesiton WTF is wrong with you people. Titanium= Light as hell and durable as hell, How is that not worth it? its not really all that much money anyway. they would alst you longer than any other trucks garunteed. In the long run i would say they are worth the extra 8-9$ Per truck. ( 27ish per truck on Blankdecks.com 58ish Total)

have you tried grindkings? they wear away fast. and the king pin comes loose pretty damn easy. my friend go t a barnd new pair and they were getting loose on the first day he had 'em.

Sk8 Or DiE

Its more like, "have you ever tried thunders" nobody (that i know) buy trucks because of weight. Yeah i used to but thunders dont grind down easy at all. Just skate thunders.

They are Titanium, ur missing the point, Reguler Grind kings are going to differant than titanium grind kings. I have had the kingpin problem with other trucks besides grind king

it's still made by the same company and grindkings suck so

I think thunder is over hyped. They are great but i have broken kinpins on them pretty fast. If you do go and get them get the lows or mids. And grind kings arnt bad. My friend has had them for 3 or 4 years now, they are mega wore down but they are still not that bad. Round here we skate pretty ghetto things so mabey it is just me. I suporrt krux. But what every you want i think al trucks are good(in main brand names)

he makes a good point. the titanium has to be stronger then the regular medal that most trucks use.

yea but they just made it titanium to make sales go up. its something new that they are trying to boost. its like the metal skateboards. its not gonna last.

Oh and dont you think that if titanium was so much better they would be out with all the other trucks by now?

Titanium is more expensive, the reason they dont ussualy make them out of that is becasue Sales would go down becasue peopel woudlnt need to replace them as ofton, then on top of that the metal most trucks are made from now is cheap shit. If all trucks cost $60 it wopuld be a lot of money when u needed to replace them, The Sales wouldnt go up nessicerrily, the only reason it wont last is because peopel do not wanan spend the extra money on them.

why are you quoting a horrible movie? anyway, i cant stand extremely light trucks, it feels so awkward

Sk8 Or DiE
05-09-2005, 03:10 AM
its steal the van.

And anyway, if it was SO much better, the truck companys wouldnt care.they'd all make them so ppl would HAVE to buy them. They'd make the titanium for oh say 20 or 30 $ then sell for 50 or 60 with a huge profit

its titanium man...the strongest/lighest metal ever used with skateboard trucks...i would say people would buy it because of its great quality (whats the point of buying 4 30 dollars trucks and them all breaking in about a year when u can get 1 70 dollar pair of titanium trucks that will last just as long as that or longer)
more then likely they will start to use titanium in trucks...grindking was smart to be the first ones to use it in their trucks :-5:
