broke School high jump record.

We had conference last night and i broke our school high jump record, i had a jump of 5'8'', old record was 5'7''.

anyone else in these forums out for sports because i get shit about being a skater out for sports, just wondering if anyone else went through the same thing.

damn dude....5'8 is taller than me too...only 5'7....and I'm 17...sucks....and yeah, I played football for a year, and then my school got wrestling my tenth grade year and I wrestled 10th and 12th grade years...so you're not the only jock that skates...but I'd skate over wrestling any day of the week.

It shouldn't matter what kinds of activities you do besides skating, the fact you are skating in the first place means you are a skater and a part of the community. I whip out the rollerblades on occassion, but do I get hated on? Sometimes. But when all of those dipsticks see me skate and realize I'm better than them on a skateboard, they keep their words to themselves.

im a tri athlete at my high school. the only crap i get is from my own team members escpecially my baseball coach. but my cousin is on my baseball team and hes like amazing at skating so we back eachother up.

I have practice everyday in every sport so it never gives me any free time to skate anymore cpet on weekends. so i cant wait for summer. great fun

I play baseball and lacrosse. I don't get any shit from being a skater playing sports from friends and such but Coach sometimes gives me shit for it. He gets pissed when I come to practice with my legs all gashed and bruised up from skating.

I'm into high jump, best in my school but i can't be bothered with the whole competition side of it and the way the team acts. They're all full of themselves and are the perfect image of athletes and i just get jip for having long hair so i just do it for fun now.

I used to high jump for my school, personal record is 1m70, but I'm 6'1'' so yeah...it's a bit easier for me. I actually never trained at high jumping, but every year when there were competitions the sports team wanted me to jump...and seriously I wouldve done anything to miss school. I do other sports like beach volleyball and parkour during the summer, and snowboard through winter.

I play Football, Basketball, and throw disc and shotput in track. PR for disc is 81 Feet about 7 Inches. Keep in mind I'm 13 and in middle school. We had a guy who consistently threw over 130 feet this year. 8th grader. I'm in 7th. I don't have any money to get into skateboarding, waiting for my birthday so I can get a blank.

That's not bad, but to give you some motivation, my buddy Nick at my school, in grade 12, he jumped 2'11 at the last meet. He's planning on doing 2'14 by the end of the season. He jumps for team England's juniors in the commonwealth games.

Personally... I'm a rounded athlete. Track and field, basketball, used to play american football (Quarterback and Free Safety), Snowboarding, Skiing (Don't do it any more but I could if I tried, did it for 10 years atleast).

As for my track and field PB's...
100m - 12.48
200m - 27.75 (Hate that event)
400m - 56.85
High Jump - 1'55
Long Jump - 5.28m
And I can also run 4x100 and 4x400 relays. I'm not amazing at any one event... but I can hold my own at meets with the other guys.

There's no way ke ran a 50 second 400...our best runner didn't even run a 50 second 400 at state last year, also how do you consider 50 seconds for a 400 meter dash slow? That's about what college track and field athletes run for their 400's.

As for sports, I play football, powerlift, and run track. I play half-back and limebacker for football, and I run the 100,200,and 400 meter dash for track.
