I've been trying these and their fricken hard. How the hell do you flip em fast enough? I've tryed different foot positions and stuff, but it doesn't work...

If you hang your Foot off the board more it makes it spin faster. Just try evry diffrent foot position you can think of. It diffrent for alot of people.

Well then your not going to be able to do it until you become a stonger an better skater.

My mate just says flick as hard as possible, he's got double flips and backside double flips, nice ones aswell.

If I were you, I would just stop and not learn this ridiculously ugly trick. I will try my best to help you otherwise, though. The flick should be more outward(somewhat liek a tre flip). I am hoping you can do double flips if you are attemptings this, so just take that front foot position and tweak it a bit.

I don't know why you call it an ugly trick, if you can pop it high enough it looks really good. Now I agree if its a low popped double flip it looks sketchy.
First, try it on a board that is smaller in width, like a 7.5". It also helps if you have light trucks....the lighter your board is the quicker you can spin it. Eventually you'll learn how to do it with nice technique, and then its easier to do on a wider board, say a 7.75".
I can do double flips, double varials, and occasional a triple flip....but the triple flip looks pretty sketchy because I can't get enough pop to make it look as clean as my doubles.
For technique, I'll exlpain the differences in how I do a double vs. a regular varial flip. For the regular flip, my foot will be closer to the truck bolts, and I'll tend to kick my foot out towards the nose and slightly off to the side. To get more flip for the double, I'll start my foot a little further from the truck bolts. Instead of trying to kick up towards the nose, I'll mostly kick out towards the side of the board. This gives you much more flipping power, hence a quicker flip.
hope that helps
