For small rails you dont really have to ollie high at all. Just smack your tail and turn. If you ollie too high, your board wont slide as well since theres more downward force.
While you're on the rail think the whole time "turn out turn out" then its really easy. It just takes practice. I'm sure if you spent 15 min on it you'll get it with ease.

It really depends if the rail is flat or sloped.
If it is sloped downward then you will want to lean forward to stay balanced.
There is no real need to try leaning forward more, you will find after a few goes you will do it without thinking maintain control. Bend your knees a little, stay loose.
If the rail is flat, go a little faster and stay above the board. Flat will be easier to begin with and will be easier to fakie, shuv-it etc from.

how high is the rail? i cant turn out of any rails 6 inches or below, mine sucks, it only goes 8 inches high, but i can turn out of that one, do you think using a box or something to make a rail higher is safe?

Mines the same hight. i can slope it from like 8 inches to 6 inches though.

Start turning out before you come to the end. Or you can even just place your back truck down and pivot it out to regular.
