Beh I really HATED episode I and II, the last 3 were pretty good, and I've read a couple of books that go before and after the movies, but the only reason why I'll go watch Episode III is because it links the two series. I'll have to re-watch the II though, I totally blacked out while watching it the first time and remember nothing but how kickass yoda is in the end.

Good luck getting in today, I'm sure if you're not waiting in line you wont' get to see it. I might try to go see it tomorrow!

Woot I love Star Wars! Espisode I was crap, can anyone say Jar Jar? This actually looks like they tried to make it have the old Star Wars feeling and didn't just go... hey we can animate shitty looking space ships!! wow!

I saw it twice today, and it is easily as good as i expected and more.
Honestly, i would rate it one of the two best Star Wars films
Obi Wan was quite vibrant and it made the whole movie just work.
And the final lighsaber battle between Obi Wan and Anakin was MARVELOUS
Of course, the dialogue is a step or two beyond cheesy(not far from being bad), but Star Wars was never known for it's smashing scripts
Also, the exclusion of JarJar Binks also makes this a pleasant movie on principle.
George Lucas definitely redeems himself on this final chapter of the Star Wars saga

saw it today, good good movie, i wouldnt rank it number 2 though, that spot is reserved for jedi. It is the best out of the prequel trilogy, which isnt really saying anything. The only complaint i had was the begining half was a little slow, and george lucas shouldn't have written the screenplay, we all miss the better dialogue from the originals. I kinda feel bad for hayden christianson though, because now his acting career is probably over because he isnt much of a good actor. However yes obi-wan was awesome in this movie.
Right now my order of the star wars flicks is
1.Empire Strikes Back (duh)
2. Return of the Jedi
3. tie- A new hope/ revenge of the sith
4. Attack of the clones (less jar jar and an unconvincing cgi yoda)
5. Phantom menace *shoots jar jar with a shot gun*- only thing good about phantom menace was daurth maul, who looked sick.
I sincerely hope they dont make 7, 8, and 9, because the star wars MOVIES should be about the skywalker family, and that story is closed, we dont care about any other sith crap. The dark and light side of the force is balanced and thats all star wars fans should care about. Not the emperor coming back with his chin looking like a 120 year old vagina instead of an 80 year old one.

I don't know. I used to watch this show he was in a LONG time ago [before he was in Star Wars] and he's a good actor.

Saw it Yesterday. Movie kicked major ass! The Final Battle on the Lava Planet was the best,so was Yado vs. Darth Cideosus. I think its funny when Yoda is like crippled half the time and when hes battleing hes doing 540 spins in the air

first, it's Yoda and Sidious
the reason Yoda can be so acrobatic in battle is because he channels the force through his whole physical being

Haha, I like the part when Anakin has just become Vader and Palpatine/Sideous tells him he killed Padme, "Noooo!!" HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! Such bad acting right there.
Also, near the end (The end, actually) of teh Kanobi/Skywalker duel, "Don't under-estimate my powers, master. " "Don't try it." *jump* *bazooow* now Anakin is a flaming torso.

I saw it today, and being a huge Star Wars fan, I must say it tied the new trilogy and the original one together brilliantly. All of the battles were awesome; I especially liked the one between Obi Wan and General Grievous. I mean, Jedi training plus four arms for lightsabers equals on bad-ass dude, and Obi Wan handled him. I can't wait for the day when I have all six and can just take a full day and watch all six movies in order.

What i didn't get was the part after the councilor adopts Leia and they decide to bring Luke to tatooine, the whole deal with Qui-Gon Ginn being immortal or something, are they making a 7-9, cause i don't think that was in 4-6?

There is a story after Return of the Jedi, but it will never be a movie; it involves Luke and Leia going to the dark side, and the public wouldn't like that. Why I think that is in there is to imply that, even though Anakin went to the dark side to get greater power than possible with the Jedi, the Jedi have powers that cannot be achieved on the dark side, too.

it just explained how obi-wan and yoda knew how to communicate with luke after they died, qui gon ginn just discovered it thats all. And dear god i hope they dont make 7,8, and 9

AND it showed how sidious looks like a freak ( why he does) and how anicen became all darth vader and stuff. why did he wear the mask? you wouldnt know that unless you read the books, someone told you, or you SAW THE MOVIE. and it explains why the jedi were though to be extinct in A NEW HOPE

Silly computerised yoda... ah well he wouldn't have been able to do all those fancy jedi tricks if he was a puppet or something.
Anyway... yeah it was quite good. And yeah you see Cidious or whoever turn into the Emperor! Woot! :-2:

Old thread, but Palpatine was always Sidious. They just didn't reveal his identity until this movie, even though it was pretty much blatantly obvious before it.

Yeah, but he wasn't Sideous as we know him, they showed him getting all mutated and stuff.

But why did you find it long and boring, it has loads of action, fair enough it has some plots holes big enough to swallow a planet.
