I need help with an essay and want to know the following:
What do the quotes from the Bible, Shakespeare, and "DOVER BEACH" have to do with Fahrenheit 451? Like why are they used in the story? Seriously need the help, essay's due in like 4 hours. <-- my face.
In reward I offer you a life-time supply of my appreciation! :-15: I mean money cannot buy that. =p

I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark, and say that perhaps that's the theme that Bradbury is trying to take has something to do with Wisdom. Example.. when Montag goes against soceity, Faber is able to remind him that he was once faithful to the Christian values.. hence the usage of the quotes from the Bible.

As for 'Dover Beach', in the poem, the speaker relates his world was like a 'sea of faith'.. like an ocean.. but, like the tides.. the sea receded, and faith left his world.. So, my interpretation goes to say that he lost the religious beliefs that he used to strive upon.
Relating to the novel, Montag relates it by asking sort of the same thing that the speaker in Dover Beach asked for.
Think about it.
