I dunno what I'm supposed to be breaking on my Krux but they are fine. Venture kingpins are notorious for snapping at random times, but they are good.
You know what, buy some Indys. Screw what everyone thinks about this heavy crap. It's just excuses to fall back on when they suck. Nothing turns better than an Indy.

Indy's are heavy? I've never considered getting them
Whats wrong with Silvers?

Apparently thats what everyone says, although I highly doubt you can feel a 4 ounce difference on a skateboard. I know I couldn't.

I would like to know what a mainstream truck is.
so would i.
but id assume its the "big" brands, like thunder, indy, krux, etc. not like.. mack 2 or bullet or something like that.
almost all trucks are "out there" just as much though, you just have some that are more popular than others. there really is no mainstream when it comes to pro skateboarding companies (pro meaning ones that are not walmartey brands).

I would like to know... what makes you ollie. I all ready know how to ollie but I am saying is it the trucks or the board that makes you ollie. Could you possibly ollie on a blank deck with nash board trucks?

I can ollie on a piece of wood held up by two bricks, assuming it is at least the general size of a skateboard (8x31).

Thunders sound nice... My frined has a pair but I don't hear him complementing them. Krux also sound nice. I'm leanin more to krux and thunder. I read some other threads and they say Grind King are too loose and some other stuff. I haven't heard too much about silver though

Out of your options I say Krux. Personaly I took the advice of the guys here and switched from Ventures to Thunders and I don't regret it one bit...Go Thunder.

Go with Grind Kings and toss the bushings as soon as you get them.... They put soft bushings in from the factory......
Here is a thought :-3: if you have soft bushing your trucks will be soft...Duh Slap different bushings in your your good to go....
Monkey bottom bushings work and GK has hard bushings...
The Vbeam axle Can not slip go to shop and look at the AXL model you can really see the Vbeam Axle pretty good and you'll see what I mean...

about three weeks ago, i would've said "go with silver trucks, man! they've got the game on lock." but then on friday i noticed that the kingpin was stripped on mine and i don't even remember messing with them after the initial fitting. so...now i say get anything but silver or core trucks.
ventures are decent. to me they feel extremely light, almost like the wheels are being held to the board by a lot of tin foil.
tensors feel a little heavier, but that's just peace of mind riding along with you and your board.
grind kings were great back when no other company recessed their kingpins...but now they're a pain in the ass because of the allen key kingpin (but you can change that...but that defeats the purpose of having grind king trucks).
indys are by far the best in my opinion. they only FEEL heavier because of the bulky (tried and true) design. the kingpin never gets in the way and the OEM bushings (the ones that come with it) are better-than-decent. pick up a set of stage9's. by the time you kill those, you will have enough experience to pick another set for yourself...and it'll probably be another set of indy's.
