What is the best deck for a beginner? My friend gave me his old Wal-Mart board and that's what I'm using for now. It's not that bad actually but I'm sure that there is better. I need soemthing that's good quality with a low price and I don't really care about the design on the bottom just as long as it isn't a long board or banana board or something like that.

1. Like Zach said, make a search for this stuff.
2. Boards are all preference, what may be best for one person may be worst for another.
3. Myself, I like the shape, reaction, and concave mellowness that Habitat has to offer.

As for me I prefer Flip decks, sometimes a Zero.

I've heard a bunch of different ones from different people. I've heard that Elements are good. Not sure though. There are not skate parks OR skate shops unless I drive a couple of hours to Greensboro. That's it though. So I have to get it off hte internet or from a friend which the board would be worn out already.

Elements are OK. There are better companies out there, though. Try out a popwar, they are fantastic.

I think I might check out these Popwars because its' the only one that's been suggested more than one time. But still people, keep recommending skateboard brands.

Minilogos are good for beginners, or just order a blank from www.blankdecks.com or some other blank deck store. Anything is better than wal-mart. You said you have to drive to Greensboro, are you refferring to Greensboro NC? If so, where are you from?

that has nothing to do with what deck you had.

My old Mystery really dissapointed me, I hated it. It might've been a fluke though.

zero - no

black label - iffy, but ok

mystery - same as zero (the actual board) so no

i got a zero for my first deck and i loved it, durability isnt really a factor because if you just started you're not going to really do anything to break your deck. ill have to admit, it was really hard to get used to my minilogo, which is about the same as the board im riding now, after riding my zero for so long because the shapes were a lot different, not bad, but different.
