Learn frontside airs first. Once you get them down ollies will make a little more sense. Ollies on vert is a pretty advanced trick, not the first thing you learn after being able to drop in.

I think a lot of the beginners don't understand that a 3 foot ramp is not a vert ramp. If the ramp transitions into a vertical wall, that is a vert ramp. When you skate on a 6 foot halfpipe, it's callled a miniramp. The tricks on those aren't called vert tricks, they are miniramp tricks. I get the feeling you just want to ollie up a smaller ramp, though. Learn how to pump up and be able to hop up and ride atop the ramp, then start trying ollies.
I dunno, maybe you really are trying to get air off a vert ramp. If that is the case, it's only a matter of developing a sense of comfort on the ramp and just doing it. You won't catch me doing that for a long time, though. I'm scared even when I hit vert just riding up the tranny, it's like a rollercoaster and you get a weightless feeling that throws me off.

If you just learned to drop in you should be less concerned about getting air and more concerned about rock 'n' rolls or axle stalls. First you have to get comfortable on the ramp.

So im sure we all know what a vert wall is lol but yeah its basically a qp this ones about 3 1/2 foot well yeah how do you go up them? cause i mean it curves up and then just basically slopes all the way up i drop in off a 4 foot qp about 15-20 ft away from it to gain speed but i just fall bass ackwards and nail my head every time with helmet of course. so yeah just wondering?

Bend your knees, straighten them as you ride up. It's called pumping.

at this local skatepark called lakeside they have a 5ft half pipe and a section for 6 ft and the people are always "pumping" and keep track of how many they can do i think the record was 200 my personal record was 150 then my legs got so tired and just quit

^^^ That's cool, a killer way to work on endurance.

Yeah, we have games of who can carve round the whole bowl the most and keep speed and not push. The record is 6 and the guy who did it pretty much collapsed when he got out....although i reckon the local bowl ripper could get 10 and still be ok.
