I was just messing around earlier and I screwed up trying to do a trick, I think I was going for a kflip and my board went nuts on me and it did a hardflip. They look sweet and I'd like those to be my next trick, but I have no idea on how to even try to do them. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or anything could help me out. I'd appreaciate it. Thanks guys.

I think you should get the kickflip down first because something like that should never happen. Anyway if you want to do these, there are two ways to go about it. One involves just doing a frontside pop shoveit with a flick off the nose to get it to kickflip. The other way is popping hard, slightly flicking the board like a kickflip while simultaneously jumping over the board and slightly in the direction of your back.
This trick is not easy to learn at all. Eric Koston and Ronnie Creager can't even do them. They have to do them switch because it is such an awkward trick.

I'll see if I can get a video of me doing it for you. My GF has a camera that records movies.

That would be awesome man. I'll find a way to slow it down to that way I can get a feel of what you're doing while you're hitting them.

When I *attempt* hardflips I do it kinda like a fs pop shuv it, i pop the bottom corner of the tail it it's pretty much a pressure flip. It does a 180 and lands on the wheels. I can't seem to get it to flip fast enough, I gotta get more hangtime to do these.
edit: Worldindustries how long did it take you to learn a kickflip?

What exactly is a hardflip? I didn't feel like making my own topic since this one was right here, but i think its like an inward shove it with a kickflip...am i right?

It's a frontside shove-it (nose travels behind you) with a kickflip.

I agree, they are hard and I only just learnt them and I am having difficulty trying to land hem moving. Here (http://www.ramprage.com/forums/media/showphoto.php?photo=424&cat=500&page=1) is a clip of me doing one. I just do a FS Shove it and kick out at the board to do the Kickflip. ^__^

Its pretty much a frontsideflip without the fs bodyvarial. Also with a little more flick to make them look nice. I cant really do them all to well but iv done a few.

I spent my first whole month basically ollieing, standing still, then moving, then over stuff, then a few gaps that I've found and a few ledges, then I spent my entire 2nd month pretty much just working on kflips...I hit my first one after about a week of trying and caught on to them pretty fast and my third month I've gotta nose stalls and I hit a backside pop shuv it(only shuv it I can do very well...front side kill me) to a nose stall the other day...purely luck and haven't hit one since but that's what I've gotten so far...don't think I left anything out...so it took me about a month bro.
edit: oh, and I haven't hit a single hardflip yet since I started trying them...

think of it as a fs flip (the board), but without the body spin. because thats what it is.
bryan herman says thats basically what he does.. sort of starts doing a fs flip, but then keeps his body from spinning.
try some fs flips?
edit: and make sure you jump high or something

That's what I do. I start the frontside flip motion but then I twist my shoulders back so my body doesn't turn with the board. I used to have these on lock but now they just seem pointless to me.

Really?
Everyone at school and everyone on www.skateboard-city.com thought it was a Hardflip. Isn't a Pressure Flip a bit like a Back Foot Flip? It's the only trick I don't fully understand how to do.

hmmm.... it's close. I'd say it's a frontside varial pressure flip too. with pressure flips, you put a lot of pressure on one side of the tail, and when you pop and scoop, the board flips in on itself. Nate Sherwood does craploads of them.

Aha thanks for clearing that up for me aronsamma. :)
Well I am definitaly flicking the board with my right foot as I do that trick. I really do not think I ollie and the board just spins like that. Hmmm.
