well if you drink it in moderation...if you have too much your body could retain it and therefore add weight

Water makes up a lot of your body's mass.. as a result, the less water in your body, potentially, the less you weigh. I can relate from wrestling, prior to a weigh-in, you wouldn't drink any water, and do lots of cardio.. Since the water leaves your body in the form of sweat, you're left weighing less than you did prior to being fully hydrated.

drinking water keeps you hydrated and keeps your metabolism up, therefor making your body burn more calories and all that stuff.

by active does that have to be everyday? over here its reall humid (ma) hot (85-95) so im skating like friday saturday then work in a resturant for 4-5 hours on sunday. today im stoping eating junk. no more coke (just fineshed the 12 pack) and skating at least 1-2hours a day. does this count as active?

Try eating and drinking stuff like this...Water, Milk, Orange Juice, Peanutbutter and Jelly sandwiches, Vegetables, Apples, Oranges and strange brightly colored things. As long as you're doing something that requires energy, every day it's considered active...and not just picking up the remote, or walking to the fridge, those don't count.

Peanut butter is ridiculously high in saturated fat. And Jelly is still high in sugar.

That is absolutely correct Spence. Six glasses (8 onces) aday for normal day to day activity. Since I'm always skating its close to 3 liters.

I gather you don't want to lose weight so you can jump on a scale and stay in a certain wrestling class, you wan't to lose weight for health and appearance.

So the answer to your question is a big YES!

Also don't starve yourself, that's unhealthy. Instead eat more smaller meals (5 to 6 aday), less red meats, more chicken, turkey, and fish(not battered), cut sugar (Soda's is practically pure sugar), wheat over white bread, and try not eat and then go to bed. This does'nt mean you have to deny all the thing you love to eat and drink. Just be aware of what your eating. Eating three or four cookies isn't gonna blow your diet, but chowing down the whole bag might. Remember: Diet is a lifestyle, not a thing you do to just lose a few pounds.

Peace.

Just put down the fork. Eat healthy. Running helps too if you want to lose weight. I don't lose weight skateboarding. Lift some weights, cut some fat.

Losing weight is simple theoretically. Eating right and working out does it for most people, but some people have a hard time. Wrestlers are the masters of losing weight fast, but the only problem with the weight we lose is the fact that it's mainly water weight and it comes back once you hydrate. At MCT, I gained 15 pounds from the nastiness of MRE's and the lack of PT you recieve there. Since then I've lost 20 back off. My diet consists of a small serving of oatmeal in the morning, a salad and two pears for lunch, then a salad, 2 pears, and a small serving of either chicken breast or fish for dinner. My workouts consist of the daily 15, a run of at least 4 miles, 4 sets of maxed out pull-ups, and then a good burnout lift with low weights, but very high repititions....::Shrugs:: Works for me....

I don’t know if this is still relevant but water can help you lose weight. Drinking cold water can burn calories, that’s because the cold water cools down your body by absorbing its heat. This body heat needs to be replaced so the body burns calories.

Simply? No.

The amount of calories burned in warming the cold water in your GI tract is would be negligible.

Is it really worth putting yourself through that just to be a big matcho man? I'd rather big skinny and weak, like I am. I can't be bothered with weights and stuff, but I keep pretty fit with skating.

When I broke my wrist a year and a half ago my skating and other exercise reached an alarmingly low...erm...low. I gained loooooads and became a chubby little sucker. Now I'll just tell you the little secret that helped me get thin again which is in a way an answer to your question. If you lay of the coke it WILL help, if you lay of the snacks within meals..well it helped for me. What i did was just ban all sweets, chocolats, other fattening stuff outta my life for a month (well chocolat stayed out 3 months cause i got so sick of that during my boring days at home with the cast on and the rain beating down outside). I also ate healthier meals. Lunches consisting of cheese sandwiches (the low fat cheese that tastes weird), ham sandwiches, salad and tomato sandwiches and other kinds of healthy stuff that are actually very tasty. And for diner I had fish at least once a week, no red meats, more chicken then usual, and also drank nothing but milk at all of those meals. You follow these things and you'll be a nice size in a month and a half. Reason that i really believe that is cause i was 13 when i did all that and so are you.

ok im gonna finish this 12 pack and then thats all(only 4 cans in total of 2 twelve pack ill finish that in 4 days) i dont want to be like those kids who can feel there ribe and see them really clearly. i want to lose about 5-15 pounds just take away the slight double chin and a little slice off the stomach. can i keep eating red meats just no snaking( a "snack can range from like a small bag of chips to like 1/2 a diner so thats alot") and at school lunch no more pizza and eat a sandwhich. so in like 2 months can i lose 5 pounds?

I lift a lot of weights, dumbells, bar, and bench and I'm into some fighting styles, but muscle weighs more than fat, so don't copy me because it doesn't work.

Here another good thing i might suggest if your in a hurry and need fast food prolly the best place to go that healthy and fast is SUBWAY they have a great choices and i change my fast food to them and i been feeling better and also i drink a coke like a day to help wake me up prolly cause i too lazy to pick up the cup and fill it with water then go have fun skateboard or excrise doing like pullup, curls, and all that junk and work you self up and slowly get off the coke that way your body dont got whack..... also when excriseing you might want to bring a bottle of gatorade which help replace what was lost from sweat to keep what your body need in it, its basicly water with some other stuff your bodly loses that it needs and give you elector lites to keep your energey up so you can keep doing it longer and also do it on a regulare bases

Subway is the biggest rip off, it's like a fiver for a tiny sandwich, it's not nice and is a complete piss take. People who go on diets by only eating there become thin because they can't afford it enough.
