the only issue with my mom is that she thinks i break boards to much she thinks they should last years... so then i just go to my dad and he understands but if u love skatboarding then u need to tell you parents this is what i want to do. its like you telling them they cant drive or they arent allowed to play golf or what it is that they do

my mum is really paranoid and tells me not to do mad things (she wouldnt even let me ollie a ****ing 4 step!!!) but she is really supportive. my dad thinks skateboarding is a hobby and a fad and in a few years it will be no more...

Yeah, same here...that's why I try to make my boards last far beyond the expirement point of any other person's board.

My mom really doesn't like the fact that I do dangerous things on a wooden board but my dad is real supportive. He tells me all the time that I could be better.

when im skating my rail my mum says 'be careful ... have you learnt anything new?' which is when i say 'well, ive been working on this' and roll up to the rail expecting a 50-50 to come from my feet and unto ones spinney-plank, but instead i mess the whole thing up and lock into a b/s feeble the whole thing!!! my mum just stares unto my rail, and the patch of ground at my feet, and watches in awe as i roll up the 'mini-bank' outside my house and pull the biggest kickflip ever seen by my mum's eyes...
and thats my story

Mi madre is awesome, she always needs updates on what new tricks I'm working on, and what new ones I've learned... Also, whenever I get kicked out of a spot she says, " It's a shame people are so mean to skateboarders." ...Cool mom, cool mom. Yeah, my dad's in another city, so whatever.

In difference to all these peaceful solutions, such as.. coming to peace with something you love.. I say **** it.
Kill your parents, make it look like an accident. You'll get an awesome settlement, a house, car and won't have to work until you're 30.
It's a failproof plan.

My Mom just wants me to be careful , and my Dad wants me to learn the old school tricks that he used to do . He says , " I don't understand all that sliding and grinding your tail into the ground , you need to learn some of the good , old tricks . " He also reffers to practicing my ollie as " riding sideways " . He's cool .

Just wait until you get a girl pregnant.
that wont happen until im married or something, if i even get married.
thats not saying im doing that stupid "no sex till marriage" thing, i just wont get someone pregnant, and sex isnt important anyways.
ill just do it in the butt or something.
not really.
edit: and anyways, you dont know my parents, so you dont know how theyd act.

Meh, according to my parents I'm doing dangerous stunts. They say it like it involves no skill. Silly parents. But they'll still buy me the odd deck or set of wheels now and again. How very kind of them. :D

My parents really don't care that much, I just skate. My mom doesn't want me getting hurt really bad, she sometimes worries about that, but she can be supportive at times, so its pretty good.

my dad is like the black guy at the start of James Craigs part in what if. Rarely if he sees me he might say something gay that he thinks will help me. My mum has never said anything about skateboarding but buys stuff. She's not sup.portive but she takes me and my friends places sometimes and feeds me so im happy. Just tell your mum you;; be careful. I always have a helmet in my back pack incase i want some gnarl

wow when i read these stories i feel how lucky i am to have supportive parents, i mean my mom does say at times i cant go skating some nights, which really bums me out, but i get to go chill with my other friends that dont skate as much anymore, and we just joke around and chill. i guess its good that my parents do that to me on some nights, its like i get to hang out and skate with everyone i wanted to this whole summer.

I don't ever start conversations about skating with my parents , unless I'm talking to my Mom , and I want to tell her about a big accomplishement like :
Hey , I just did my first 1260 degree rotation . ; Hey , I just figured out how to go in circles while I'm riding and then keep riding . ; Hey Josh almost made it up those steps .

My dad is soo annoying. He doesnt understand that skateboards dont last 5 years and he thinks that EVERYTHING is too expensive. Anyway, if ur parents have a problem with you skating, ask them why you cant! Theres no reason why you shouldnt be allowed to pursue what you want, especially if youre 16!

My mom also says that its not lady-like, i just tell her that if she wants lady-like she can go find my bitch of a sister. My dad is cool when it comes to skateboarding, he's the one who got me into it cause he used to skate (He always wanted a son but he never got it so he settled with me.) I'll come in from skateing and he'll say pass ur board so i give it to him and he'll say something like "what the f*ck did you do to this deck! i bought it 2 days ago," then look at me, tell me to get in the car and he'll take me down to the local skate shop and buy me a new one.

my mum and dad let me do what i wanna style wise, but their worry with things like sk8boardin in the price, and they don't like all the spensive designer brands like quiksilver, vans, dc, bla bla. i had a mini sk8 board when i was 11, when i first started getin interested... it was my six year old brutha's, yeh, and they made me use that + i wasn't allowed sk8 shoes, until i wus about 12 years old... they don't mind me skating, especially wiv my boi friend. :-15: :-5: :-21:

ahahahah thats genius.
If you 16 your going to be moving out in a year or two so it dosnt matter.
My dad and grandad used to make ramps for me and my mates when we were little, they were class. Sometimes they'd get us some bottles of weak booze aswel.

if your parents have a prob with you skating, ask her to stand on the board and kickflip. She wont be able to do it. Sorted. I had probs with my mum and dad, I told them to get on and ollie. They fell off the moment they stood on the board!

my mum adn dad both appreciate that it takes skill, and my mum knows that its not a fad but a passion, something in common that we all share here, on ramprage, but my dad doesnt really care.
