If you just skate street, or vert or whatever, you should really try longboarding. I don't mean like quitting shortboards, but doing both. If you get good at longboarding you can carry the techniques over to street. Like think of pumping for example. If you did that on a short board, you could get the speed that you need to ollie a stairset, even without a great run up. Oh yeah, and longboarding's rad. :)

Pumping on a shortboard wouldnt work the same way as the longboard, and we use something called "tic-tac" to gain speed. But you would get more speed by pushing, no matter how long the run-up is.

ive rode one once, broke my arm, and never rode it again (it wasnt even fun when i was riding it i think

Longboarding is a blast, I've got a "Summer Soulstick" that's killer for bombing hills or just cruising the boardwalk at the beach. A longboard is a must for your quiver.

^^ what is this "tic tac" of which you speak.....but anyways longboards are fun a couple pushes will have you cruising for a long time
