I don't know, but I'm pretty sure that Rodney Mullen invented a lot of tricks.

well, mullen invented most 'new school tricks', flatground ollie, kickflip, heelflip, 3flip, etc

Hell no! It's always been cool, and it will stay that way forever!
I've been wanting a special forum for Old School/Freestyle for a long time. This website just keeps kicking more and more ass every day.
Good job, Steve.

"Old School" is all about style and state of mind. How can that not be cool? We have a local group of guys here called the OTC "Old Timers Club" and if we see a kid that is having fun, seems to be skating because he loves to skate, not because dad wants him to or something, and is full on going for it, we will slap an OTC sticker on his helmet or board. Its pretty cool to see kids get stoked when they get a sticker slapped on their helmet.
Remember, skating is about having fun and jumping on cars.

Here in SoCal there are almost as many Old Schoolers as New Schoolers. We like to share the positive stoke with All Skaters.

what about the new style of old school skating, I'm talking about Shiloh Greathouse's part in the True Love video where he mixes old school tricks with some big time hammers.
I like his policy of skating through the city and not just getting tricks at spots.

Old skool is pretty freakin sweet! My dad and Grandpa do it all the time. I learned a few tricks form them.

I like the style of old school skating.Like back in the days when Tony Hawk was like 14 or 15 tearing up the bowl....... What are the name of some old school skate videos and how much do they cost?

Hello All, Just joined a day or so ago. I'm 41 with a son 13 that skates. I don't know what "school" he is but its great to watch. I'm skated back in the mid 70's to around 81 then quit till about 2-1/2 years ago. I just love the feeling of rolling around.
I don't know about it being any "cooler" but its more fun now. I can drive to where I want to skate, I can bring my kids, I can buy what I need without cutting a weeks worth of lawns.
I don't think I'd trade in the stoke for skating I have today for the skill and ability to heal I had when I was 14. My son and I just built a 3'10"x8'x19' mini in the garage that I hope to build my coordination a little better on.http://www.weldinginspectionsvcs.com/KidsSkateboardPics/RampDesign/GarageRamp/DSCF2899_small.JPG
Anyway, y'all have a nice day. I got a few pics of some of the skating in the area on my website at http://www.weldinginspectionsvcs.com/KidsSkateboardPics/index.html .

Welcome to RR!!! Nice to have another 40+ skater here. I'm with you, I'm having more fun now I think than when I was younger. I can appreciate skating more now I think. When your young sometimes you tend to take things for granted, I know I did. Also, skating with my 15 year old son is the ultimate, never had a better skate partner.
