we have pool decks that are kinda old school shaped, but I want to do a line of old-school decks with those cool cuts we used to ride back in the day... like Alva or SkullSkates, even Powell stuff like the old cabellero deck....

what do you guys think? would anyone buy them to ride or hang on the wall?

That's the only style decks I ride. I'm still riding a reissue circa 1980 Caballero Snub Nose. I'd be interested for sure.

Yeah, I think you would get some profit out of them, but not much. There just isn't enough old school skaters left. With everyone and the flip-in flip-out tricks most people don't like old school. I don't think I would consider buying one unless it looked really awesome so I could put it on my shelf or hang it on my wall.

I dunno man, I agree with you guys about younger kids, its before them... like disco, but there a TON of old school skaters (like me) out there that are in thier 30's now and have "real" or "normal" lives now, jobs and such. They have made it through the 20's (not easy, but really fun) palyed in bands and basically got thier rocks off... now we/me/they need an outlet for the anxiety of our lives, as well it is a great way to bond with our kids. So, thats really who those boards would be for, like our pool decks, I sold 15 of them in 1 day to a few guys that were all the case study for this post.

BUT, even if were to never skate it, if you were a fan of FIGHT! it may be cool to have one for you wall, I have custom painted decks everywhere here, they look great.

also, the older dudes, or younger guys that maybe aren't into flip tricks so much may be in need of a new school-old school deck (LOL) and thats who I'd like to reach.

What shapes have you guys loved in the past? one of my fav's was the Alva Dave Duncan, the one with the ribbed sides...

holla....

Hey Dan, remember the early Simms "Bert "Lamar" or "Dave Andrecht" shapes? Wide front with cutaway tail and routered bottom. Or the Caster "Tom Inouye" shape that was similar. Very cool shapes.

yea dan i like the idea of the pool decks, it would def. help "expand" your company to out reaach to different levels of skateboarding....dan thats pretty good man...youve prolly sold what? i dunno 300? 350? decks im just shooting a guess out there...o yea and this is justa tad off the topic, but making a flat billed hat with the crossed guns and the word FIGHT! written in box letters would be EXTREMELY catchy and would bring you a hell of alot of profits in...im sure other teen skaters will agree with me. think about it bro...i say this now because i guess this is a thread somewhat about expanding fight to outreach to different levels of skating

If they were a good price I'd probaly buy just to roll up to the skatepark and get some good ol' stares. I remember my brother had a "power rangers" board and it had an old skool cut with the little handrail things on the side. it ripped. man i wish i hadnt thrown it away. but the thing had no grip tape, just the power ranger logo on the top.

There's an old-school type deck in the science room at my school and everybody's tryed to buy it because it's so cool, it's one of those really small ones with the falt pointed nose and the small square kicktail. I want one so bad, i might even make one and put some longboard wheels on it.

Vision, Schmitt stix, powell and others have made re-editions of their old school boards and they are awesome. I would love to see re-editions of H-Street boards. I would definetly buy Hensley's king size model. What ever happened to H-Street?

Dan, hit me offline (email in profile) to talk about what you have cooking. I am always looking for new brands to carry in the shop.
