Skateboarding is so weird. You completely suck ass at it for the first 3 or 4 months of it, but you still keep at it. When guys are like 28 years old they still skate when they have time out of their day job. Someone will be like what youre how old and still riding a skateboard? You get addicted to a skateboard, I mean look at what youre doing you get banged up, and for the first year you try a trick so many times, countless like 1000 times. Once you land it you feel great. When you dont get it you bang your board on stuff and throw it and get really pissed. But when you play basketball or football you dont throw them becuase you get mad. Skateboarding gets you so mad, basketball and football doesnt, yet we chose to skateboard still. We constantly watch skateboarding videos and it gets us hype and want to go skate. When you watch football or basketball you dont feel anything. You dont feel like you can play better. Does anyone agree?

I agree with you NitrousX. It's weird because even if you are skating your worst ever, you still feel a need to skate. Even if I go inside, I will still be thinking of skateboarding and will often go right back out there.

I dunno about you but I still try tricks 1000 times. Lastnight I was trying halfcab nosemanual, shove-it into manual, and back 180 out. I must have tried it at least 50 times. I'm still going back out tonight to the pad to work on it. Manuals are so fun :)

skateboarding is an addiction there should be like AA for it. But i think that other people feel that way about football or basketball also.

I've thought about it. Whenever I fall down or get pissed or have a fit over skateboarding and I say things like," God, I HATE skateboarding!!!!! I'm never gonna be good!!!", I just have to go back out and try it again.

A couple of hours ago, I was trying to do this gap(only about 20 inches) and I was seriously going as fast as I could(about 15-18 MPH) and my back wheels caught the other side of the gap when I landed. That sent my board about 20 feet back and sent me flying through the air. I flew about 3 feet, then landed and skid on my back another 5 or so feet.

Then I was all like, "oh my god.......I'm never doing that again...." So I sat down and when I was rested and couldn't feel the pain anymore, I tried the gap again and wrecked even worse, messing up my hands and legs. But I kept doing it for about a half-hour.

Pain is just a trick to get over. When I skate, I don't think about the pain. I sliced open my ankle the other day, like my entire ankle right down the side. I'm still skating, I will be tomarrow too. Pain is not a problem for me. Most people are like "It will hurt a shit load if I fall." I just say **** it and go. I get pissed off if I can't land it, yeah. But it gets me wondering, what am I doing wrong? So I always bring someone to point out what I'm doing wrong.

Like the other day I was doing a rail, and I kept landing on my board sideways. So I kept trying and trying, then I landed it. I went at it for about 15 mins. My problem was pulling the board back into place.

Skating is just fun, good way to hang out with friends. You can laugh at each other too. You can cheer on and help each other along the way too. Pain is in skating, so is anger. You will get pissed off in skating once or twice eventually.

Well i believe we throw our boards because we want so badly to learn what we're trying to do. Take me for instance i throw mine all the time (well untill I pick up my new Popwar). I lost my ollie a few weeks ago and getting it back is taking longer than expected. I get mad and throw my skateboard because it makes me mad to see people pop ollies and I think if i stayed off the basketball court, this never would have happened. You desire things you see, so if you've ever seen a part of a skate vid you want to learn a trick you've seen. When you have trouble learning it pisses you off. We don't throw footballs or basketballs because theres a 50/50 chance(depending on skill level) of acomplishing your goal. Another reason is some of us take skating more seriously than basketball or football because we love it.

I hardlly ever get angy with my skating and if i am bailing a trick severally times it just gets me more pumped to land it next time. i never throw my deck or hit things with it because i now it i bust it up i will regret it.

Yea it is weird. I had to write an argument for logic class once and the only thing icould think to write it on was skating. I said like "Skatebording is a great activitie.... etc and when i read it in class everyones like "Thats a proper argument but its not true!" it really pissed me off.
