Video Games Made Into Movies

I hear that Doom and Halo are going to be turned into movies. I don't like the whole idea because they could turn two of the coolest games into big move flops. Take Resident Evil for example. it had nothing to do with the video game. Post your thoughts.

There making a FFVII film based after the game. It looks bloody awesome. Its a CGI film. Its called Advent Children and will be avilaible on DVD and UMD.

I really think that Halo will be awesome as long as they keep to the epic storyline of the game.

I already know for sure that Doom will be crap because the director (The Rock) said that its a virus that turns everyone into monsters. How orginal.

Dude, that is so screwed up. Then what is it going to be about? Army dudes shooting at other Army dudes in a generic, overused location to a plot that has been used thousands of times before? God, I hope not...

By the way, I just found out that FarCry The Movie is in the works. (Farcry, for those who do not know, was one of the coolest, prettiest games of 2004)

It'll be prob snatched up by the Uwe Bowel director(doing Crazy Taxi, Alone in the Dark loads of game films) well i think thats his name. His films are awfull. Get Spielburg on the job!

Holy christ war of the worlds is one of the worst movies ever. This movie is so loud and the ending is ridiculous.

Actually, it started out a game and then some people wrote a few books about it.

Anyway I just found out that the Doom movie WILL be about an invasion from Hell. But it is not located on Mars. Try the planet "Olduvai"

Already, there is a petition of some 1700 fans concerned about key changes to the established Doom Universe. While the film follows the basic plot of the game - an invasion of an off-world military installation, the location is not Mars, Deimos, or Phobos but "Olduvai". Sadly, the film is due out in three months, so it would seem the protests have fallen on deaf ears.

I really wanna know why they screw around with stuff?

I'm praying that Half-Life the movie will be in the works sometime soon. :D

Holy christ war of the worlds is one of the worst movies ever. This movie is so loud and the ending is ridiculous.

The books ending was so much better. They catch colds, the film basically didn't manage to convert the ending the rest was good. It annoyed me the way it just happened abruptly then explained it - badly.

Book > Film.
