So I got my board in today, and I love it, thanks for the help on choosing it guys.... Anyway, I did notice though that one of the wheels makes a lot more noise when you spin it than the other three, like a constant loud thunk as it spins... Also it stops a lot faster than the other wheels when you just spin them (just holding the board in your hands). Is it too tight? To loose? I got the board assembled when I ordered it so I'm not to familiar with how its all put together and stuff. How can I go about fixing it? Thanks

well this normally means that its to tight but it might be somthing wrong with the bearing, but as its new i doubt that it is. so if u loosen it n the proble goes away then its tht but if it doesnt then try tighting it cause it might be to loose of u get my drift

Well, it is certainly a bearing problem.

Get a 1/2 inch socket/wrench whatever and unscrew the nut from the truck. Remove the wheel, spin it while holding the bearings with your thumb and another finger. If you feel resistance, you've got a blown bearing (or possibly both are). If you do, get some new bearings from a shop.

To remove the bearings, reinsert the wheel so it is about a half inch into the axle (enough to clear the first bearing, but before the second). Hold the wheel tight, and pull hard using your wrist upward against the bearing. It might take some force, but it should pop out. Rinse and repeat for the other side. To put in the new ones, throw the bearing on the axle, put the wheel on the axle, line the bearing up to the opening, and push hard until it begins to go in. Hopefully it will go in smoothly. After it goes in a little bit, rinse and repeat with the other side.

Tighten the nut back on as desired, but careful not to overtighten. If you hear a creaking noise when you tighten the nut, it is the bearing squeezing itself into the wheel, and this is normal. When you are able to spin the wheel freely with no resistance, you're done. Yay.

It is most probablly to tight. losen it a bit. the wheel shouldnt move side-side at all but it should still spin freely

Hmm I tried to take the wheel off but it's strange it just wont come off the axel at all! All the other wheels come out fine and I checked them all, but this one won't. I skated the board all day and it seems to be rolling fine, but it still concerns me that I can't even get the wheel off. My buddy couldn't get it off either. Trucks look fine, aren't warped or anything it's weird. I'm going to take it to my local shop and have them look at it but I can't get out there until tuesday or wednesday because I have to work. What do you guys think?

If the wheel has spacers in it the wheel can NEVER be too tight. Thats strange you cant get the wheel off. Try putting some WD-40 on the axle and try to pull it off. You will have to clean your bearings after you do this though because WD-40 wrecks bearings.

sorry to dig up an old thread but I did get the wheel off just but striking it with a wrench while holding the board. Now here's whats strange... There's no damage to any of the parts, but on the axel at the base of it, you can see like an extra layer of bright metal almost like extra sodering iron metal or something (it looks shitty and inconsistant), and the speed washer is stuck to the axel. It's only on this one axel. THIS is what was preventing my wheel from coming off and gives the wheel a tighter almost locking fit to the axel. Has anyone seen something like this before? Last time I let skatewarehouse build a board for me...

Wow thats sucks. Complain to them and see if you can score a free pair of trucks. :-41:

Eh took it to the shop around here, the guy said its just extra metal and it happens all the time to indy's... scraped it off with a razorblade and everything's fine now
