I'd just like to welcome everyone to the video section. People have shown a growing interest towards making their own movies and editing them so I though this section was a good idea ;)
I've done a bunch of video work but I'm no expert. If you have any questions/suggestions please feel free to post them!
Cheers! :-37:

i use Adobe Premiere and VideoWave.
Adobe premiere is a little better for advanced users...but videowave, just about any idiot can use, and it does a good job.

Will we be able to post video clips here?
Ramprage

I'll try to set it up so we can post video clips, not in this forum though. I'll make another forum where you can post videos.
Or I might have to make a special gallery seperate from the forum where users can post videos... Ill look into it though for sure!

Boarder420, it all depends on the quality of the program, some crappy ones you can download off the net for free and others cost an absolute mint

you can also get them illegally but i wouldnt suggest oing that, bad things happen t those people lol
all i would do is start off with a kinda crappy one and move up as and when you get more experianced

I'm the only person that thinks it's wrong to download a $600 program for free? What is the world coming to....
Normally, I will use 'Astermerix DVP'...which came with my capture card. It's a decent program...it's got the features I need..and nothing else I don't.

Please be careful when discussing how to get programs, or anything related to that. We don't promote or tolerate software piracy but we do try and help people understand video editing.
You can get demo versions of Premiere at www.download.com and most other packages as well. I know most hobbiest can't afford Premiere so that's why I suggest the demo version... Although if you for any reason can't find the DEMO on download.com I'd give Kazza a try... them have a few *cough* demo's floating around :D
Make sure whatever you get from a peer to peer sharing network, like Kazza, you scan with the latest virus scanning software such as Norton Antivirus with the latest definition files.

Yes it is, Adobe is the industry program for video editing, there are many products that are half that price (and less) that offer just as good editing features like Unlead Media Studio Pro to name one...

well think about it...the guys who programmed it had to have spent forever, its pretty complex, then after they had finished programming it, there's advertising, production, and they still want to make money off of it. Plus, its a limited market, not everyone out there wants/needs a professional program. Its all supply and demand.

but in the end it'd be worth buying it, cos nothing will go rong lyke the kazaa ones do in the end (cos no matter wot, theres ALWAYS ONE file corrupt or sum shit)

It hasn't been a year. He told all the members in November, it's been 2 1/2 months, not a year. Plus he just finshed a lot of his school work, and has his TowerHost to run.
