ok I have a camera that I really like, and it is great for filming skateboarding during the day... but my friends like to skate at night most of the time... and my camcorder doesnt have a built in light on it... so what should I do... have more light during night shots, because it is VERY necessary for me to have night shots... and I need VERY good lighting...any suggestions???

Sounds like a stupid idea, as if he is actually going to afford that.

Not got a big torch? Check your garage, I'm sure your dad will have something!

Actually generator powerd lighting is the only real way. Big torch's don't provide enough light, and i'm talking Big torches.

I'm not looking to spend money on a light.... would two flashlights placed stategically get the job done for filming skateboarding at night???

If they're real bright and your just skating like a line of 2 ledges then maybe.

Of course it will work with flash. We used a huge 100,000 candel spotlight torch thing, just to light up one bench. It wasn't enough.

All you need is a generator and some flood lights and your set ;)

JK. Probably a couple thousand to expensive for you..my advice, find a place with good night time lighting.

Agreed or if you have the necessary cheap stuff like i did lol a pretty darn bright lamp with the shade off of course lol and like a work light and whatever else you can find and focus on the SPOT YOUR SHOOTING not anywher else lol unless its like some hi flow light or something and you should be fine if you get enough of the light right and the angle of the cam with it and it should be perfect :-41:

you best bet is to get a 1000w genny from a hardware store or advanced auto parts, and buy two 500w floods, doing this will set you back around 500 dollars. its not too expensive when you think you just spent alot more on your camera. its a good idea to have a car with a genny so if you gotta run you just throw it in the trunk and ****in fly`

yea thats only $500!!

id stick to what other people have said and either use just the cars lights or use a place with nice street lights

If your old enough to have a car, you can get an iverter and run a geni light off your car, there a geni light in a shop near me for like £16 and it a big thing like! so look around BNQ for stuff like tht.....

actually its techinically best to film during overcast but i hate it i love golden tints not a gray look. so i usually stick with blue skies unless i really have too.

most decent sonys have nightshot plus, and if u get up close enough it will look fine, but if u wanna spend the $$$ a generator and floodlights is always better
