Get the Merks for sure. And I'd seriously try for suede instead of leather, you get better grip that way.

i have a pair of shoes from a company called NSS, and they seem to be fine. I got em because they where cheap and i was planning on tearing em up anyway. NSS stands for Nice Skate Shoes, lol.

Well, the Lakais are probably the coolest but Lakais generally suck in my experience (sole wears off in a week)

I just got some Vans Rowley Xl3 and they are very nice looking, pretty simple, very comfy, very light. Might wanna check them out.

OUtta them i would go for the Osiris merk. Looked pretty nice and by the looks of em have good protection.

I generally dislike leather shoes but I really hate Osiris, for the first 2 weeks, they were great, excellent board feel, grip, flip, etc. Now, after 2-3 weeks they are shit and I don't even wear them anymore.
