I'm thinking of buying a new video editing program seeing that I finally learned to use the manual settings on my Mini DV and am tired of all of the limits in WMM. I was just wandering what editing program is good for a still learning editor but not a complete beginner.
Here is my latest, final draft competition video for SB-C (http://www.snowpics.net/view_single.php?medid=12094) and I know it would look so much better if I had a better editing program and knew a few weeks/ months ago about the manual settings.
(you must right click save as the video)

My mom's not too smart when it comes to computers and she think's that a simple trial version will screw up the computer, so I need more of a review than a trial.

Ulead Video Studio is basic, but you can use slo-mo, filters, ect. It's a fairly cheap programme to.
Try searching www.google.com for Virtual Dub (its free and full version), you can edit small clips in that, save them and then put them into your timeline on WMM. VD is a good programme for filters.
