Fixing my brakes

I need help on fixing my bike brakes because when ever i try to stop the brakes pads just keep going

Replace your brake cable... replace your pads... adjust your brakes... make sure your pads are hitting the sidewalls of your rims and not your tires or air in general.

th brakes work fine its just the brakes pads and the rims because it keeps sliding when i try to stop
