Alternative music??

Right this is really bugging me why do people call "our" type of music alternative its not is it?

its just some decent music people can open up to and let it all out not dance to friggin loud uuh tss lol (english people know what im on about)

i hate that term "alternative" its NOT AHHH lol

indie/grunge----Nirvana, pearl jam....
punk--------------You know what punk is do you
emo---------------Saves de day? default.......
