Has anyone seen the video yet? The IFilm version is 12 mins. long, b/c of some cutscenes, but beside from the length, I thought the video rocked. It's filled with, sex, drugs, love, hate, betrayal, and lots of other interesting dramatics for any Green Day fan. Comment.

^Ditto. Greener Day used to be good. Underground = Good. Mainstream = Bad. Now don't get me wrong, some of their old stuff is good. But they've sold out.

Woah I've never been called by my real name by someone who I haven't talked to ever on RR before. I hate this whole 'Punk' attitude they have now. The whole idea of 'Punk' has gone so many different ways I can't seem to figure out what is and what isn't. I'm not saying I'm a Punk, but I'm just saying that what I've always believed in isn't around now. Snaker might be able to back me up on this. Or shove it in my face humiliatingly.

Yeah, the Pistols were the punk band to like. And still are...

falloffboy I agree with everything you have said in this thread. I little while ago I was kind of ashamed to like Green Day just because of this new album and stuff. NoFX wrote the first "rock opera" anyway (The Decline) yet Green Day gets all this credit fro creating that idea.

Th video was amazing it really did touch me how the dude reforms at the end. It was a little bit lengthy up to Dearly bloved. I though it was one of green days best

I hated the English flag in the background of that guy's room. Damn...
The video was interesting, but I got bored of some of it. Just doesn't go with it too well. No matter how hard GD try nowadays, they'll never be as good as they used to be.

greenday r still good, u cant say that there not punk, they have lived a punk lifesyle, there music may change but they are still punks, not because someone says so, its just the way they have lived, punk is whatever u make, they never sold out, they just became popular, they never sold themselves to some major company, u shouldnt judge a band without knowing the people

IN this song you got look deeper not just at surface watch it again and try to find why green day made this video. They don't need the money they are trying to get a message acroos.

Punk WAS PistolsNo, the punk image/trend was Pistols

They are on Reprise Records, apparently, Reprise being a subsidiary of WB, which is about as major as a company gets.
And it shouldn't take much of a guess as to why they went on that label, they wanted more money. And you know what the strange coincidence is, they aren't the pop-punk band they used to be, now they're mtv rock stars. You think the two are related, perhaps ?
And you don't know them, so your opinion is just as useless as you say his is.

They don't need the money they are trying to get a message acroos.I've read about what the songs on this album are supposed to mean from many people on songmeanings.com, and it's kinda juvenile and silly, honestly
and yes, the Who are credited with the first "rock opera".

u cant say a band is not punk coz they want to make money, its there job u idiot, they would still do it if there was no money, they invented pop-punk, they are what made other punk bands who they are

i really can't think of a witty comment to your above post so i'm just gonna tell the truth and say that i uhm, disagree with every single thing in that post of yours. though this thread is making me wonder what the hell the real definition of "punk" really is these days. Some people tell me its a sort of musical freedom, early 70's history tells me it was used to refer to 60's garage rock bands and other people tell me that its a political view to the world...gets confusing

Name a modern punk band influenced by Shit Day, and by punk i mean something decent not Blink or Sum 41. What punk lifestyle have they lived.

The Who didn't do it in one song thought it was the album that was the "rock opera". Led Zeppelin was the first to do it one song i think. Im not 100% on this one

Punks? you MUST be kidding...because around here punks have no home, live in the streets or squat, make blowjobs in park at night to pay for their heroin and usually die at around 22 years old.

Green Day were closest to punk with the albums before Dookie (not so bad album) then they tried to gte MORE punk and got less punk...
