Shoe size has nothing to do with the width of your board.

It has to do with how big your foot is. Just go to a skateshop, and ask to stand on a few boards. Just what you feel is best. I have size 13 shoes, and i skate 7.625. So, yah. Doesn't matter.

It depends more on what type of skating you're doing. 7.5-8 is good for street and more than 8 is good for vert.

no.
8 is not big. sure, if you ride vert youd definitely want more than 8, but i mean, i like 8.125 and im not tall or heavy and i dont have big feet and i dont skate big things a lot. so its totally preference.
but you have somewhat big feet, so id recommend AT LEAST 7.875 or something. whatever feels comfortable though..

Yeah 8 isnt big at all. I would only ride something 7.5 or a size around there if I was doing strictly freestyle. I ride a 9.5 but that board really isn't for street skating...more for park and stuff. I am getting an 8.5 soon for street skating. I find bigger decks a lot more comfortable and it's a lot easier to catch flips and whatnot.
