I'm just going to make a list of tips of do's and don'ts for filming and editing.

Filming
1. Don't Blame your footage for looking like shit because your camera sucks, the time of the year it was shot. blame it on you not setting controls right. Even better blame it on your compression. In all seriousness .wmv sucks. It'll compress your videos and make them look like shit, but oh wait it makes them 3mb so we can download them in a mesely 2 minutes. Honestly I'm sure most of you guys can wait to see a quality video with good quality in the quicktime format. Everyone Should download Quicktime for windows. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ download it there PLEASE DO THIS I'm begging you...seriously I'd love to watch everyones videos just like everyone else.

2. Don't over use fisheye. Find good long lens angles. Its more artistic, some of you may not look at filming as an art, but I myself do so thats why I think long lens is more pleasurable...just a thought tho.

Post Production

1.Download quicktime. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

2. Don't get Adobe After Effects just so you can do ramped slow mo's. AFX has so many possibilities that could be why its the number one Motion Graphics and Visual Effects application made. If you have or are getting AFX learn about it, read the manual. Grab a book about it, the program is so complex in a good way. You can do anything from Chroma keying to the most complex motion graphic you can think or want to do. If you need help with it look in the tutorials that freaky style posted.

3. Don't blame your editing software on why your editing sucks. Just try and be as creative as you can be. That's my favorite part about editing is just being super creative. It's your montage do whatever the hell you want to do to make it look however you want to make it look. Just think about the song you're using and try making stuff fit. If you have too Speed the clip up a bit like 110% to 120% nothing more or you almost making it go almost twice as fast as it normally plays.

4. Make titles, they're fun to make. If you're too lazy to make titles (like myself) then just put they're names in the corner (I'm even too lazy to do that at times)

That's all for right now. I'll add more as I feel the need. Just everyone remember http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ please?

What long angle lens would you recommend? I don't know much about them. Nice tips by the way.

You don't even need an extra lens. Just walk 20 or 30 feet away from the skater/rail/ledge/whatever... put your camera on a tripod to avoid any shaky footage (Image Stabilizing won't help here... even a $20 tripod will make your video look 100 times more professional than holding it by hand) and then just film the trick. It's really not that hard.

Long lens angles i recommend? hmm thats not creative! c'mon guys you should all really just think of stuff thats creative don't ask for peoples advice on creativity. just think look for tress or whatever possible, easly accesible(sp) rooftops to stand on and such. have fun with it, filming is just as fun as skating itself.
