If I could have it my way, I would skate about 5 hours a day, but my legs get all tight and sore after about an hour and a half and everything gets really sketchy. Does anyone know a good way to get rid of the stiffness and soreness after skating? Would working out the legs help?

What I do is run on my treadmilll for 3 minutes and then stretch before I skate. That should help. If my legs got sore anyway, I'd just rest them on a memory foam pillow or relax them in a tub of water.

stretch your legs before you skate. And work your quads. Then after some more skating you should be strong enough so that it won't hurt anymore.

Definitly stretch. I have also found that sitting in a certain way helps stetch out your ankles and legs. Its called seiza and if you sit like that for about 5 minutes before skating you will feel really good. http://www.furyu.com/archives/issue6/Seiza.html check out that website for a diagram so you know what I'm talking about.

Maybe thats a little too weird for everyone though haha.

never had this problem skate, but the beginning of snowboard season i rly feel it. I somehow just kinda cancel out the pain and concentrate on snowboarding. Then i really feel it afterwards.

anyway....I'd stretch before you go, and sit in a tub of hot water when your done....

Just stretch your muscles in your leg and if you do lots of flips, your ankles for about 5 mins or so before you skate. I do that and have been skating quite well. Hope that helped.

After you skate on for a while longer, your legs will strengthen and you won't have to do anything.

stretching before you do anything can actually be bad. because your muscles arent warmed up.

skate around doing little ollies and pumping and pushing fast and stuff before you really skate for like 5 minutes, and then stretch. its a lotttttttttttttttt better for you.

also, eat something good, probably with protien or something, a while before you go. and drink water.

I have to stretch before I skate otherwise my knees will be bitches towards me, but when I go skating I've gone up stairs to brush teeth and shit too.
