Hi, I'm fairly new to skateboarding. gettin Tensor low trucks and 54mm wheels. A friend told me I might need risers but reading other posts...I'm not too sure. What do you say? I'm planning on getting a blank "canadian" deck 7.75 and the trucks come with 7/8" hardware. Thanks.

No you don't. The only thing risers do is keep you from getting wheelbite. Wheel bite is when your wheel touches the board and leaves a scuff; it doesn't really effect you.

I dont use risers and ive never had a problem. Could risers give more pop?

No, pop comes from the skater. How strong you can snap the tail has nothing to do with the distance from the tail to the ground.

well like 6 months ago i asked the guy at the skate shop this and he said uh you get a better pop without risers well some people do anyway

I've got risers. You should get them or else the trucks can dig into your board.

Not only that but it stops your trucks directly touching your board, which can help on impact so your board doesn't crack.

Risers are shit! they dont help you with anything even with risers you still get wheel bite! And Risers will not help your board from cracking. If anything they will probobly make it easier to crack.

^^.. Agree to Disagree.. You only get wheel bite WITH risers if your wheels are enormous. Risers help your board from not cracking. Risers are good. ..

In MY opinion, YOUR opinion is retarded

Explain how it makes it harder to crack?

Risers are basically a cushion, and instead of a hunk of metal (trucks)pressing against your board, the cushion (riser pad) goes under the hunk of metal (trucks), therefore making it harder to get PRESSURE CRACKS, that are made from the impact when you land from the truck hitting the board.. :) So therefore, you are retarded

The higher your board is from the ground, the higher your ollie. Risers are made to prevent wheel bite.

People make wheels big so they are faster, smoother and just better all around. Risers will allow you to ollie higher. It's a fact.

Yes risers do make you ollie higher execpt they definately do not stop crackin, its like Nike Shox, if you jump of a building its still gunna hurt. Most risers are hard plastic, that will not obsorb anything at all. You understand?

ok i think they help with a little extra spring, not alot, but a little extra. and they seem to just help everything be more proportionate and stay together, also helping a tad with the shock. nothing to be so good you cant believe it, but if youve got the money, go ahead and invest them in a 5 buck set of risers.

thatss not true. my old mini logo had no risers, and it got pressure cracks near the hardware, my second mini logo WITH risers, did not have any pressure cracks for like a longer time than the one without it lol
