I just recently bought a pair of Globe Focuses and the laces are really thick and all but after only a day of skating they completely ripped out. Is there anyway to prevent this? Also, does anyone know where they sell spare laces?

There isn't really a good way to prevent that. Just get new laces from a shoe store.

Duck tape would work I guess.
It's cheap.

I've tried it. The tape either comes off or rips and makes a mess.

It can be messy. I suggest super glue. If that doesnt work good for you use the shoogoo

Use a plastic knife to spread the Shoo Goo over the holes and laces.

yeah pretty much. My shoe lace was hanging on by litterally a thread and I put shoo goo on it like 2 months ago and it's still there and the lace is still together. So I made the shoo Goo like...A Crusty white lace.

what i did with a pair of experimental DC's- i bought some leather at a thrift shop, got my wife's sewing machine and sewed the leather onto the left shoe- i didn't sew it on the "toungue" of the shoe- but so all the laces were blocked. the leather did catch a little bit at first- but after about 2 days of constant boarding, they feel fine.
i guess it would be kinda hard to relace the shoes with my guard- but hell you wouldn't really need to anway...
to make the very dark leather less ugly- i made a stencil of the REDS logo- the little dragon. after i spray painted it silver- it didn't look too bad with black DC's.
hope this helps....

That's what happened to my globes. Just replace the laces with el cheapos from the 2 dollar shop. It's like 10 for 2 bucks.

well I broke them the first day because of my ummm amazing dragging skillz. Yea well I've decided to just not skate in them and just skate in my circa apple yards until my toes can come out of them. And that time is coming pretty soon.
