I have not played the playstation 2 version, but I like the playstation version. No vast impovemnets over THPS2 but still a great game. The only new feature is the revert which is awesome. Ride up to a transition bust out a boneless to your favorite grab tap r2 and swing into a revert tap up and down into a manual and you are into the street again and ollie out of the manual and go into a darkslide and casper to 360 flip out for 100,000 points in one trick. This makes the game seem limitless its great. The grafics took a step back though, the videos are great. Rodney Mullen does a moving handstand to a hand kickflip and land on his feet. Then he does a crooked grind and hops off onto a paralel bench to a nosegrind. I think this is a great game.

I got THPS3 for my PS2 on xmas day and i've not stopped plain it since - it's so great!!!!
The PS2 version is very different from the psx version.
The videos on the ps2 version are about 3mins long each- most with interviews wiv the sk8er wiv ful songs in the background.
the graphics are top but stil not the best the ps2 can do - yet.
It's got a smoother feel to the game and it's got the Cruise Ship level which the psx aint got - its got that crap downhil thing.
Overall - it's a better game!!!

Cheats
Platform: Playstation 2

Cheats in THPS 3 have been laid out differently from the first 2 games. In the past you could pause the game, hold the Left spin button and enter codes. This method does not work on THPS 3, so any codes you read with the old style format simply will not work.

There are 2 ways to unlock items in the game. The first, and most tedious way, is to beat the game. Over and over and over...The second way is to enter a cheat code into the cheats menu. The 2nd method is much easier, but there are no known cheats that unlock 100% of the items in the game. In the future others will likely unlock all the levels and all the hidden characters.

As stated above, this is the easiest way and likely the route most people will take. In order to get the cheats, you'd have to beat the game 21 times. *yawn* There are only 2 known cheats and you will still have to beat the game 10 times to unlock all the hidden stages and secret characters.

Cheat Codes
Enter Unlock
Backdoor Unlock All Cheats
Peepshow Unlock All Movies
Yohomies Unlock All Skaters

At the main menu, go to Options then Cheats and enter the code.

Once you enter this code, you will hear a chime confirming the entry. Then you must go into a regular game and pause the game. There will be a new option, Cheats. Here you can turn the codes on and off at will. The movies can be found in the options menu.

What exactly do these codes unlock? See the charts below, with descriptions on the cheats below that.

Hidden Created Skaters
Platform: Playstation 2

As we now know, by repeatedly beating the game over and over, you can unlock numerous hidden characters that are not initially available. Alas, these are not the only secret skaters concealed away within the depths of the game. By entering various names of Neversoft employees and their friends and families in the Create-A-Skater editor, you can uncover an additional 59 hidden characters. You can use the newly available faces, bodies, and clothes of each to build your own custom skaters, making it easier to get the exact look that may have proven difficult before. Men, women, and children are all included and each can also be used online.

To access these hidden Create-A-Skaters, enter the following names in the EDIT SKATER menu (names in brackets are just secondary ways of getting the same character):

Note - These will not work on PAL versions of the game (Europe/Australia). In order to access these skaters on PAL versions, you will need to enter a code first. We haven't discovered what this code is yet unfortunately.

Ya they cut video parts in console version who uses CD's (not xbox, ps2 or gc). because there is not enough space on the cd.

dude who cares if its unrealistic, its fun. If it WAS realistic...lets see....you have to try 300 times before you land a heelflip down 10 stairs...you have to try a million times to 360 flip down a gap...hmm..NO FUN!

The code for Playstation 2 THPS3..to unlock everything is...
Go to Options > Cheats. Type 'backdoor' in small text...you should hear a cash register go 'cha-ching!'....them play a game. Pause it...go to cheats...and there you go!

I have the game for Gamecube and it's awesome. My favorite video is Mullen's. I think some codes for the PS1 to unlock the cheat menu is backdoor and for the movies it's popcorn. I know that's what it is for the PS2 so it might work. It's different for Gamecube.
