Vegas 6.0 is what I roll with. Premire and Avid are also high end. If you have a mac then Final Cut Pro is the way to go.
Cam: Sony VX2100 is gonna run ya $2000. VX2000 will run around $1500, and VX1000 is somewhere between 700 to 1000 duckets. If thats too rich for ya then think about saving up or going for a smaller chip 3ccd cam. I think Panasonic and JVC both have models selling between $500-$600 bucks.
Peace.

Premiere isnt as high end as it used to be actually, i would consider vegas more high end, until macromedia comes out with a new premiere, yes sadly macromedia bought out adobe. some heads on here may of known that but anyways. Also for titling and effects there is also combustion which is made by discreet, or after effects thats one of the highest quality effects program. also there is motion if you're on a mac. Photoshop is always a plus to have if to make simple word titles. As freaky style said those are the top cameras used in the skateboarding industry. There is also the dvx100a which runs around 2500-3000 should lower once the dvx100b drops. there's the gl1 and gl2, gl1 runs 900-1200, and the gl2 runs about 1500-2000. the gl series doesnt have as nice audio as the vx series, also think about when you will be filming the most. if at night look more towards the 2_000 the vx1000 lacks on night filming due to smaller ccds. I'm not too sure on the gl's i know people with both, ive filmed with both, i dislike how the controls are mainly spring loaded, it just feels weird to me. I've never skated at night with either of the kids who have them. I personally use the vx1000. also try finding people who have a camera you are looking at so maybe you maybe able to test the cameras out, find the one that feels best to you. You may want to look into buying a light, your best bet on lights for these cameras are usually the bescor 50/100 watt, just because its in a small price range but produces a ton of light. Also you will eventually think that you want to use a fisheye, century optics is the way to go, even if you dont buy one of those cameras, if you buy a 37mm threading or large threaded camera you'd want to get the century fisheyes, top quality optics.
