hey, i have been playing tony hawk, and i wanna start skating. i think i was able to do an ollie before i sold my (brothers really) board. havent thought about skating since. Im 14, and I play paintball (hence{sp} the name) soo i cant spend much on skating over paintball. i went to action village, though it would be easy to pick out a new board. i want the
"Plan B Theory Skateboard Deck - 7.5 in. X 31.5 in."
but theres no complete there, and i dont know what truck, tape, or wheels to get.
please tell me which stuff would be best.
i thought the wheels would be easy, but ther like octogan, circles, and squares. help a man out. :-14:
as you can probably tell, im lost.
thanks

for size, just go stand on some and see what feels best.

as far as the actual company of the board, sticking to these are your best bet, because they give you the same stuff they give their riders, unlike most companies.

foundaion
toy machine
pig
real
rasalibre
krooked
anti hero
habitat
alien workshop
dgk
organika
expedition

no order, just pick one or something.

then for trucks, it doesnt really matter a whole lot, but the better buys are thunder, independent, and krux. lots of choices for colors and stuff with thunder and krux.

wheels dont really matter, but id stay in the 51-55mm range.

bearings...... you dont need anything expensive so id probably just get some toy machine t sects, reds (even though i dont really like them), or just anything thats from a bearing-only-company thats around 15$ or whatever.

grip tape.. stick with jessup. just jessup.

bolts dont really matter.

yeah welcome, grip tape, jessup i heard is awesome, wheels they are mostly the same so just get blanks since you are on a limited funds. hardware get the cheapest as its all the same. trucks, i would use thunders or indys. prob thundesr as indys are a little heavier bearings ask ur shop what they have, i use bones super swiss 6 but i dont think you wanna drop 50 on a set of bearings. prob go with toy machine t sects i heard those are nice. if you want to try and get a complete you can order one online im not sure the best or fastest place but i use ccs sometimes www.ccs.com hope that helps

deck- Alien workshop, habitat, popwar, real, foundation, mystery, pig, santa cruz, the firm and toy machine are prbbly the best brands out there right now so choose from one of those
wheels- any kind of pro 52mm wheels but I'd go with spitfires

yeah, plan b is pretty much crap.. they just have this huge famous name because they were like.. a top company back in the day, like 1991... so they came back with that name so thats how they sell.

blankdecks.com complete would actually be a good deal. id say sturdy mold, the cheapest blank wheels, the best bearings they let you get, and thunders.

if you want a graphic board, skateboard.com completes are a good deal.

I would chose these, but its just me, its whats comfortable to me, I dont know about anyone else.
-Boards- shoryts, habitat, alien workshop, popwar, blacklabel, flip, and Girl (those last two ive heard somewhat good things about.
- Trucks- Grind King, Indys, and Krux
- Wheels- any 52 mm
- Bearings- any are good, I like Lifetakers, and Reds.
- Hardware- doesnt matter

there ya go, thats atleast what I like, and heard thats good.

heres the heartbreaking rundown:

- shortys and flip are shit. girl isnt AS bad, but still.
- grind king is shit
- reds are overrated

I reckon you should just buy a blank setup for the being because you may not like skating and then you have spent all that money for something you aint going to use. But then again if you know your going to love skating and keep it up then buy a better setup.

I haven't heard of 'Real', but Bones Reds are awesome, the Jessup grip is a good choice and the Independent trucks are pretty good.

nice choice in setup. well if your still thinkin about you setup i recomend trying baker decks. they have good pop. for trucks.....go with something light but will hold out once you start tryin things like 4-sets. probably phantom 2's bearings.... i say go with bones swiss, and if you got a lot of money get bone swiss labrinth. they have a better seal than most. thats what i have, just the other day my board fell in a huge puddle and they still work fine. wheels.... just get about size 50-52 pretty much anything should be fine. welcome to rr.

I must vouch for habitat boards. Very light an sturdy. I had mine for a year before I broke it (landed in the middle from a 6 set). Red bones are some of the fastest bearings once they break in. Inde trucks are pretty heavy.

^^ indys are not heavy and BONES RED's are overrated like Specer said, I have some now and don't like them but then again that personal preference
