"sweet child o mine".Thats still my favorite guitar solo today.Maybe "welcome to the jungle's" guitar solo, or if you dont like any of that then maybe you can learn "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd.

Solo from Creeds-Illusion I love that one learned back when the My Own Prison album came out....And yeah I know creed sucks but they have/had an awsome guitarist.

you can just make up your own as long as you know all the scales up and down the guitar you can make one up. Almost every green day song has an easy solo

rip up something simple and original off the good ol' blues scale.

unless he is just learning and/or needs practice with power cords. Some of green day solo's aren't easy listen Hitchn a ride that solo isn't a peice of cake.

free bird!!!!!!!!!!
as long as you can play fast and have all the basics down (pull offs, hammer-ons), it's quite impressive.

ok well actually unless you have extremly tiny hands or an extreme lack of talent hitchin a ride shouldnt pose to big of a threat (no offense to you if you do, everyone has problems with different things, i for one cant read notes), and im not sayin green days bad, they re simple kind of like nirvana, kurt didnt suck as bad as he made it seem but nirvana and green day dont need blaring guitar solos and riffs. but no green day is not what is needed for solos, if you were asking for power chords then sure, but did power chords come up any where? no, smart retort, bad subject.

if you learn any Yngwie Malmsteem
i've been playing alot of his work lately, its pretty insane
you gotta be fast up the fretboard, and you gotta be accurate as hell
but check out some of his stuff if you think you can get it.
