yeah, its because youre not used to them yet. and you have to get used to the way they react with your board, and your skating morphs ever so slightly to fit it so it works.
but, if you buy stiff shoes, thats a big problem. or thicker shoes, like most skate shoes. the only shoes ive ever had that didnt really have to be broken in before skating are rowley classics and reynolds 3s. i skate thin shoes, so i never have to REALLY break them in, but sometimes it takes a day for them to get used to the board, and for me to get fully used to them. but i never have shoes that are stiff and have to be broken in for walking.
thick shoes suck. and i know most of you skate thick shoes. thin shoes = reynolds 3s and most vans. maybe fallen chiefs too, and couple others.

authentics are rad. i dont skate them much because the sides are so thin so it hurts if your board hits them, but theyre really fun.

i mostly bought them for wearing because i wanted some of those old school ones, but i always skate shoes that i buy even if theyre cheap oldschool ones that arent really meant for modern skating.
they still have lots of life left in the soles.. ive only skated them maybe 3 or 4 times.

yeah doodz, thin is the only way to go if you want a truly good-skating shoe.
if you have sensetive feet, maybe not. or youd need some kind of shock absorbing technology in the sole...
i guess i have tough feet. when my shoes are almost done, the soles more towards the front could be as little as maybe 3 milimeters thick (at least with vans), and i dont hurt my feet.

Lemonade Man, could you post a pic of your Rey 3's? I want to see what the olive/black look like in real life. But if you can't thats cool too. Most people are freaks about touching their cameras.(Not saying you are, just when I ask to use someones camera, its usually no)

Hmm I get used to new shoes once I step in them. I'll skate anything from manchesters to schemes. Right now I'm skating my lakai kingstons and they are inbetween thick and thin. That's what I prefer. Like nikes lakai or éS.

they were done a while ago. i kept skating them for about two weeks after i got a hole in the edge of the sole underneath though because i didnt have money yet.
they still skated really good though even when they were dying.
and for the sides, if you dont use some kind of shoe goo or something, youll be screwed after a little bit.
you cant really tell, but the black stuff is covering a bunch of the missing material. there was a little hole, and there was a piece gone, and i also had a hole in the toe up further. i dont have a picture of the sole though, but theyre flat on the big pad of the foot and you can see the white of the padding through it because its so thin.
this picture is from about a week and a half before i got new shoes.

I got some Rey 3's today... probably my favorite shoe.
yeah... I got my old Emerica's out of my closet awhile ago and tried skating with them and it felt really weird.
I don't really like thick shoes, not only do they feel like skating in marshmellows, they look like poop too.
