Well... I didn't see anything about surfing anywhere and I was just wondering if anybody else on this site surfs. I skate and snowboard too but there really should be a thing for surfing... unless there really aren't any surfers. Bah... Post what you think about it.

I've tried it and anyone who can do it i have ultimate respect for. I could go in a straight line for a bit then would just feel myself falling. Skaterat surfs.

Of course, I surf in the frigid Oregon coast waters... I'm all paranoid about sharks now, since that guy got bitten of the coast of... well, Oregon.

I learnt to surf on surf camp. I can surf a wave going straight but not like sideways when you can touch the wave.

The chances of getting hit by a shark are about the same as getting hit by lightning. Nill.

Ya I know the story well. Think of all the thousands upon thousands of people in the ocean everyday, shark attacks are very rare. I've been surfing for 38 years and the only shark I've seen at the beach was a dead one. I've been pretty close to some while scuba diving in Hawaii, kinda scary but more of a rush. Hell, there's an inherant risk in everything we do on a daily basis. A hell of alot of people die in auto accidents every day, do we stop driving ?

yeah...good point, there's a waaay bigger chance of getting killed in a car accident than there is getting killed by a shark.
