i didn't have the feeling that everything really was one big level cause had to go through tunnels and whatnot to get to diffrent sections of the city...kinda made me feel like the tunnel was the loading bar that got filled up as you skated through it.

Acttualy R dude you are correct when you go threw the tunnels some times your screen will freeze up a little more depending on how full you xbox or memory card is. And yes i have it for ds its Really fun.
