Me and Simon know the answer but we thought we'd see if you do.
Three men go into a motel. The man behind the desk says the room is $30, so each man pays $10 and they go to their room. Later, the man at the desk realises the room was only $25 and sends the bellboy with $5 change. The bellboy can't work out how to split $5 between three so gives each man $1 and keeps $2. This means each man has paid $9 (total $27), add the bellboy’s $2 = $29. Where is the missing dollar?

Ah, the wonders of google.
The answer is in the way the question is worded. You cannot add what one person HAS to what someone else has PAID and come up with any kind of a meaningful number, you have to subtract.
Each man has paid $9.
The bellhop has $2.
Difference
$9 x 3 = $27
2
$25
The hotel clerk has the other 25 dollars.
To look at it from the standpoint of the original $30. Each man has $1.
The bellhop has $2.
The hotel clerk has $25.
Total
$1 x 3 = $3
2
25
$30

the hotel owner still has 25/30 dollars
bell boy has 2 dollars
and each guy has one dolar
25 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 30 booya
edit : i realised that the guy before me answered now SHIT i wanted to be first

I'm bored and I thought you should try these-
1. A black man is driving a black car in a city where the roads are black, the houses are black, the pavement is black, the lamposts don't work, the house lights don't work, car headlights don't work, etc. A dog runs across the road, the man in the car manages to swerve out of the way and avoid hitting the dog. How did he do it?
2. A man runs into the biggest art museum in the world. The museum contains thousands of paintings, including the work or Van Gough, Hockney, Picasso. The man throws water over a few of the paintings, the waters soak into them, they are ruined. The man is thanked by the owner and the next day is put on the front page for doing such a great job. Why?
3. A man is deep in the Amazon rainforest. He is captured by a tribe. They tell him he has two ways he can die- fried in oil, or boiled in water. They tell him to determine which way he dies he must make a statement. If the state ment is true then he will be boiled in water. If the statement is false then he wil be fried in oil. What is the ONE statement he can make to stop the tribe from killing him?
4. A man is deep in the Amazon rainforest. He is captured by a tribe. The tribe tie him to a tree using rope. The tribe go off to find food, without leaivng someone to guard the hostage. Once they are out of site, the hostage wriggles out of the rope. He runs as fast as he can. The tribe see him and chase him. The hostage grabs a stick, which happens to be hollow. Running with the 7ft stick in his hand he blows down it to get rid of any insects that could be inside. He notices a river, he happily dives in and grabs hold of a log on the bottom. Using the stick to breathe through the man stays under the water for quite some time. The tribe get to the river, but can't see their hostage and go back to their camp. Why wouldn't this escape method work?
5. An angler comes home from a successful days fishing and stops off on a phone box on the way home. Later, the man is found laying dead on the floor with each of his wrists slit, there is blood all over the ground, and the glass on either side of the telephone is smashed. Why?
6. A man is sat in his car dead. He was found by police, with a single bullet in his head. Nobody else was in the car with him and the car was locked from the inside. There is no damage to the car. The windows of the car were fully wound up. How did the killer shoot the man?
7. It was a warm summer eve when police raided a flat after reports of no activity for over a week. A man was found inside, sitting on a chair with a gunshot to the head. The flat was locked from the inside and nobody else was in the flat. The window cill was wet, and the wall paper underneath was damp and peeling up. It wasn't suicide as the man did not have a gun in the flat. How was he killed?
8. Two men, go into a bar and both order vocka on the rocks. They both get their drinks. One man drinks his drink really slowly, it actually took him over an hour to drink it, the other man drank his quickly. The two men then left the bar and the man who drank his drink slowly fell over and died. Why?
That took ages to type (and to remember them all)

2+2=4.

The water pressure pushing down on him wouldn't allow his lungs to expand, so he wouldn't be able to breathe.

It was spiked.
Thos are all the ones I can think of an answer to.

but 2+2 is 4. and if they didn't know the answer they could sms their homeboy who works in a casino in vegas and ask him, then the man would be boiled. the correct answer is 'eat shitaki and die' and he busts out his guns and shoots em.

Well, I'll take some guesses:
1. He heard the dog bark.
2. The paintings were on fire and putting water on them at least saved them from burning.
3. Some type of statement that could have both true and false meaning? Maybe...
4. He'd have to jump in the river with the stick already in his mouth and keep one end above water, or water would get in. And he wouldn't be able to blow all the water out of a 7ft stick. Either that or water would soak into the wood.
I'm not sure about the rest

1. the dog was white? 2. the water damaged the paintings showing they are fake? hehe 6. someone shot him in the head, put him in his car, pushed down the lock and shut the door from outside. 7. someone shot him and pressed the little lock button on the handle and shut it from the outside.

1. It was day.
2. Umm . . . they're fake? NO CLUE.
3. Something to do with philosophy, that there really is no correct answer to?
4. He just sucked all the bugs out of the stick?
5. He killed himself?
6. Suicide.
7. Killer escaped from the window?
8. The ice had poison.
//EDIT: I really wanna know #'s 3,4,5, and 7.

4. Because if the river was deep enough that they couldnt see him and if he was at the bottom a 7 foot stick wouldnt be long enough.

Gas, condensation made the place damp.
EDIT: After re-reading it i realise that there was a gunshot in his head. Damn you stumped me.

5.the man actidently walks through the freshly polished glass wrists first
6. he killed himself
7. the killer came through the roof or the floor(like in Bean the movie)

1. It's day
2. The paintings are on fire
3. "You are going to fry me in oil" - If they do fry him in oil then it would mean the statement is correct, so they would have to boil him in water, which would make the statement incorrect..........
4. The capacity of the stick is greater than that of his lungs, therefor he would suffocate
5. He phoned his wife to say how big the fish was, and cut his wrists on the glass as he pushed his arms out to show her (silly old git)
6. It's a convertable
7. The man was too hot in his flat so he used a big block of ice to prop the window open (sash window). The man sat in his chair and was shot through the gap in window from another man in a flat the other side of the road. The ice started to melt, the window closed and water soaked into the wallpaper and window cill.
8. Poison in the ice

I don't think I would have ever guessed that one.
