Yeah their on v2.60 Click here (http://www.us.playstation.com/psp.aspx?id=SoftwareUpdate) to download. Be advised: if you update your psp, you will not be able to play homebrew games. I updated mine, and the new features rock. I don't mind paying for games, and you can still download game saves. I use most of the space on my memory stick for skate vids.
For music: All you have to do is plug-in you psp to your usb and open the psp file. Then create the file "MUSIC" - all caps w/o quotation marks. lol
enjoi.

Good.

Yeah, but if you download updates then you won't be able to run emulators and homebrew applications.

Hook up your PSP to your computer with a USB cable and put your music in the PSP/MUSIC folder

I don't mean to be a dick or anything, but I saw the exact thing on Teenspot (http://www.teenspot.com/boards/showthread.html?p=5628898#post5628898) . I'll say it more politely than I did on TS because RR is so much better. You have much better things to choose from. such as a Creative Zen Vision:M (http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&product=14331) in place of the Ipod (Notable advantages: Touchpad is more natural than click wheel and doesn't cause RSI, FM Radio, Microphone, Supports tons of Codecs including Xvid) and the GP2X (http://www.gpx2.com/product/product.asp) in place of the PSP (It's the open-source linux based freelove portable and stores stuff on cheaper sd cards).
I guess it's too late though. If you want to run emulators and other hackories, go here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/psp-hacks.php
If you just want some update from sony that makes homebrew impossible, you need to READ THE MANUAL to find out the url. I know it, but everyone needs a little work on their independent problem solving skills. You can also find out how to load music onto it using the manual.

I finally figured out how to get music on PSP.You just go to http://www.yousendit.com and then upload the mp3 file from your computer. Then you head on over to http://www.cjb.net and register a shorter url. When it asks for whats your current website address you give them the one from you send it dot com. Then on your psp all you do is go to the shorter url that you just registered. Then you click on the song.Next it will ask you do you want to download this song.So you click yes. There you go thats how you get music on your psp!
