oh word? not in black for what reasons...aesthetic or practical? is there some sort of difference between black wheels and, say...white wheels?

well, just aesthetic. i think it just generally looks better.. but of course thats my opinion. and since its not about actual performance, it doesnt matter...
i dont think theres any difference. maybe, because sometimes dyes can weaken stuff slightly but i dont think wheels could be too affected at all.

I have the axact same trucks and bearings but with an AWS deck. The wheels look crap and rubbery to be honest. Just out interest, are they like, less than 90a ?

Don't waste your money on the habitat deck. Habitat is good, but I would buy a blank for half the price. Especially if you're just starting to skate.
Thunder trucks are pretty good, I personally would go with mids though.
Bones Reds bearings are probably the best bearings you can get for that price. That's what I ride.
With wheels it's all a matter of preference. I've heard that white wheels tend to be grippier and last longer, but I rock the orange spitfires for some flavour.
