problems with unreal tournament

last night i bought unreal tournament 2004 for $39.99 anyway i played it and when i tried to play online it frrezes when i go to the screen with all the games also it freezes after i try to start a game
can anyone help me?

Do you mean when you connect to a server or create an offline game?

If yes, post up your computers specs. To get them go onto run under the start menu and type 'dxdiag'. That should bring some info up. All i can guess is that you may have to update your direct x version. I think it needs to be 8.1 . Any error messages coming up?

and plus most likely you need a cdkey to play online. SO i guess you'd only want to download the version if you wanted single player...

It's very fast paced compared to normal FPS.
The bittorrent file size is just under 4 Gigs.
I just tried and my illegal copy can't get on the multiplayer.
Maybe you could try downloading a patch.
