Im going to explain the difference between, goofy, regular, mongo, nollie, switch and fakie.
GOOFY & REGULAR
You will either be Goofy, or regular. It doesnt matter what way you skate. Basicly Goofy means that you have your right foot forward and your left foot pushing your self. Regular is the exact opposite of goofy, your left foot in front and you right foot pushing.
If you goofy, it doesnt mean you are goofy. There is nothing wrong with skating a different way then your friends. What ever is more comfy for you. So its personal preference goof around and find out what is more comfortable to you personally.
Now mongo, lots of people say you shouldn't, but again what ever you feal comfortable with. So basicly you are skating regular you have your right foot at the bottom of the board and your left foot pushing, then you turn your body so your left foot is forward. Mongo Goofy is again the exact oppisite of Mongo Regular, your left foot on the bottom of the board. Again i do not suggest skating like this because when you are trying to do a gap with hardly any run up it will take longer to set up.
SWITCH & NOLLIES & FAKIES
Now for switch, very simple. If you regular you will skate goofy, if you re goofy you will skate regular. Trick are alot harder skating switch than in your regular posisition.
Now nollies are a bit more compicated, in your regular posistion put your front foot on the front of the board or the nose and you back foot in the middle, this is nollie posistion, probally the hardest of them all, you will learn more about that later.
And finally fakies. Probally the most compiclated one of them all, much like the nollie but in switch poistion. So get into switch put your front foot on the nose and you back foot in the middle of the board, now your ridding fakie. This is pretty much riding regular backwards, the most easiest, besides regular of course.
