I'm thinking of starting skateboarding but i dont have alot of money, by that i mean extremly low like 30 dollars and it takes forever for me to save up money because i get 3 dollars allowance a week. Would it be ok if i just bought a cheap board from like modells or something and tried to learn and if i liked it alot and learned to ollie buy a real one. Thanks

Ask your parents if you can do chores, act motivated and if they see that, then they might pull their heads out of their asses and give you some real money. But i'm pretty sure you can get a set up for $30 if you REALLY budget. Go to your local shop and ask if they have used boards, most of the time their either really cheap or free, trucks are probably your biggest concern, so go to blankdecks.com and pick some up there. You can use wheels and bearings from like a toys r us board until you get enough money for wheels and then bearings. Thats what i did at 1st.

These are all things you got in the past 2 years so can you stop acting like your poor this kid can't even buy a cheap 30 dollar skateboard. Sorry but I just had to contradict you. Anyways yea it's ok just make sure it has grip tape and is a 7 ply maple wood.

You can buy a walmart or at Hibbets Sportshop(spelling) you can get a cheap board. They have worldindustries and stuff. The boards may not be great but great to learn from and cheap. While your learning you can save up and add on to the board. Later on you will have a decent board. http://www.blankdecks.com is a great place to buy stuff to add on to your board.
