Need to know how to clean griptape

Hey, umm sum1 spilled alchol on my deck (griptape) and now its sorta like stained... and i got all this dirt and shitt stuck on my grip tape now... does ne1 know a way I can clean my griptape.. get bak to me asap thanks.. Cheers fellas.... -xoxox- Skittles -xoxox-

you could get some warm water, a sponge... soak the sponge....... squeeze it to the point where it doesnt drip but its still wet.. then press it on the grip and lightly wipe kind of.. then press on the wet areas with paper towels.

thats how i do mine if i ever want to.

but if its a stain or bad enough, you could use a toothbrush after the sponge part. ive done it before when someone got dirt smashed into my grip, and it worked pretty well.

I use a toothbrush, and some rubbing alchoal. Just a bit on the brush, and scrub like a mofo.

Get grip gum, im not sure they still make it, but you could probably find a bar around somewhere. It's a giant rubber eraser that cleans your grip, the weird thing is that it actually works.

its only on the grip, and its not soaked. just damp. and you dont let it sit there either.

I uh...don't clean my grip. Don't worry about it. Unless it affects your skating, it doesn't matter. Mind you...I'd be pretty annoyed if someone spilt grog on my board now. Especially after I stenciled it. I suggest using spenser's method.

Grip Gum only takes away dust, it won't help with mud and thick dirt.

Yeah, don't worry about it. Alcohol on your griptape isn't going to effect your skating...or atleast it shouldn't.

Speaking of griptape, mine has a dog-poo stain on it from a year ago...

among other stains :-41: :D

Dog shit = regrip If it's just a bit then soap n water spot clean should be fine, but I imagine it took you a while to figure out where that smell was coming from....so yeah just regrip it.

About the whole BMXERS there i found out they wernt half bad. Bieng a skater myself i thought the other skaters wouldnt mind if you got in there way, but all hell broke loose and some skateboarder was getting pissed at me just cause i got in his way near the funbox. compared to the bikeriders up there which were all apoligizing to me when i was at fault.

EDIT* Hey dont always end up going to the high star parks in Melbourne, i ended up going to Chadstone's skatepark after Camberwell and it felt better because it was empty and me and my friend could have a nice free skate without running into others.

A stiff toothbrush and if ya wanna try it lighter fluid... it may stain even more but it works great on most everything. I use it to clean all kinda of stuff since i have a bunch laying around from my zippo collection. It will disolve like any glue or sticky crap so it might work on this.
