Music Editing Programs

Does anybody know of any programs that allow you to like , chop up mp3s or wavs (or in other words take bits out of them and stuff) ?
I really need one urgently.

Try Sonic Foundry's program called Sound Forge. I believe the latest version of sound forge is 5.0. You can probably find a crappy freeware program on download.com that will do the trick though.

I wudnt actually, they have demo of summat but you cant save your work on it.
I hope i get eJay soon off my mate.

well you can do VERY minor things with the sound recoreder on your computer but it might be waht ur looking for... or you can go to best buy and get a sound/music studio for like 10$ or that's what it was last time i was there! hope u find something good... and if all else fails find something on the internet.. it's gotta be out there somewhere!
