Ever been there? My girlfriend insisted on dragging me to the mall today, and I was dragged into it. My first thought, total repulsion. Bunch of little kids stocking up on 90/100 dollar shoes, and whining at their parents. They idiot kids complaning for the Element shirts/hoodies, and spending hundreds on apparel. I was shocked, it was just bad. There was the sounds of half-retarded girls mindlessly awwmaygawding every expensive shoe in there. You know, the idiots who buy skate shoes because it's what's "Cool." If you want to keep your sanity, stay away from that hell hole, it is just...just bad.

CinciSkater2011
02-12-2006, 12:27 AM
Yeah. It used to be good, they actually were like a skateshop, decks, bearings, wheels, the whole she-bang. But then stupid "preps" get the idea "skater" is cool. Pacific Sunwear is then invaded by "preppies", Pac Sun cashes in, ditches the extra supply (decks and all that goos shtuff), and "preps" then decide it's finally safe to shop there all the time now the "scary kids" were gone, and a cool store was lost.

really?^^^ I had no idea about that I used to like it when I justed starrted off skating but after about a couple of months I was like im not going to spend 100 on a stupid bam hoodie or something.

CinciSkater2011
02-12-2006, 12:32 AM
Yeah, it used to be like a skateshop chain, kinda like Zumiez. I got a few completes there back in the day, and skated the mall. ;)

Lol, the mall 'round here sucks, skate stoppers everywhere, and shitty chalky ledges. The only good thing is a killer gap. I don't go there much, it's pretty stupid. The mall is like the main attraction for morons around here, it's pretty stupid.

CinciSkater2011
02-12-2006, 12:35 AM
Lol, I meant skated INSIDE the mall. Marble everywhere.

Griptape Flip

Yeah. I skated about 30 minutes once, before a mall cop caught me.

CinciSkater2011
02-12-2006, 12:44 AM
Which is what we're saying! I hate them. I snuck my board into the mall once, told a guy holding a HUGE Pac Sun bag to ollie. He couldn't. So I said, "Okay, maybe you're just starting. But even beginners know this, Who are the Z-Boys?". He replied with, "Uh...A new rap group dawg?" I then slapped him backhand.

Yeah, I walked in once to see if the workers were even cool. I asked this dude, decked out in AWS and Volcom crap if he'd been to the Skateplaza recently. (I live near Kettering) He said "Ooh, I think we just got those in, what size are you?" I love making fools out of poseurs.

danielb
02-12-2006, 12:57 AM
wow, that's really really sad. And I didn't know they sold AWS stuff at pac-sun. But they are pretty cool where I live, haven't asked them anything like that though.

CinciSkater2011
02-12-2006, 01:00 AM
They don't sell AWS stuff. He obviously went somewhere and got it to attract "skater customers".

danielb
02-12-2006, 01:07 AM

you know you guys are not helping with the progression of skating. calling people *****s is the DUMBEST thing ever. why can they not just like that shirt, or those shoes? (they are the most comfortable type of shoes ive ever worn) i mean you wouldnt walk up to a guy with an NFL shirt/jersey on and be like "hey your a *****! you dont play in the NFL!"

what if they just like skateboarding, like watching it on the X-Games and what not? they can't show their appreciation for the sport/lifestyle? just cause they cant skate doesnt mean they cant wear the clothes.

seriously, once you guys get to your sophmore year in high school you will NEVER hear the word ***** again. im in my sophmore year of college and havent heard it since middle school.

DONT CALL PEOPLE *****S! THERES NO REASON FOR THAT!

Alrighty, what about the kids who say they can best you in a game of skate, and when they get on the board fall over. What about all the people wearing skate shoes/shirts who don't skate, but do stupid shit and give skaters a bad name. I'm not saying everyone who shops there is a *****, I have not said it once. I have not even said *****, if you will read my former statement. And yes, there is a reason to hate kids who try to act like skaters, but do not skate. These are the types of kids who think they're hot shit because they wear a pair of shoes. If they want to support the "Lifestyle" by wearing skater clothes, that's pretty stupid too. How many people do you know that wear a pair of DC's, and an Element hoodie, who say they don't skate, but wear the clothes just support the sport? I haven't met one, not a single one. Let me ask you something, how are these people "Helping with the progression of skating?" They're not. They are the idiots who give skaters a bad name, because they do stupid crap and we get blamed. I have no grudges, and i'm not mad, but I got an oppinion. =D

yo pacsun is alright. im not gonna hate on the store , but i personally never shop there. ive seen the shit inside there but id rather by skating materials somewhere else. i like going to the copelands at the mall cuz they have lots of clearance sales. 50% off on all skating stuff. i got 2 pairs of lakais and ipaths there. then i bought a complete blank. i also like buying regular white shirts at champs. 5 plain white shirts for 19.99. im a cheap guy but so wut?

i do know a few friends who wear those clothes and shoes and will admit to anyone that they do not skate. im not saying you said ***** ever, im talking about the people who do use that term.

i totally get you on the part of if theyre saying they skate awesome and then cant even roll on a board. but to see someone youve never met and call them a ***** because they wear abercrombie? thats just dumb i mean really.

im not trying to start any arguments, but theres just no reason to put people down.

i didnt say they WERE supporting the sport. but if someone calls someone else a ***** they are not helping anything. i mean its people like this that make it seem like you cant just be starting out. its either you skate good, or your a *****. ive heard people calling other skaters *****s just because they couldnt do anything but ollie, if even that.

seriously though, im not trying to fight. but calling others *****s makes some people not even want to start for fear of being laughed at and called a *****

a couple of my childhood friends could have been skaters. they could have been great skaters. 6 years ago me and my friends started skateboarding in our neighborhood. we all lived in one neighborhood. we skated everyday out on the street helping each other out and playing skate with each other. after about 2 and a half months of skating, we decided to go to the four set at the old alvarado park. there were so many people at the park who were watching us skateboard. while we were there, several "gangsters" came up to us and called us *****s and laughed at us whenever we fell. they jacked our money and wrote on our boarders with a marker that said "lil bitches." i dont understand why these guys even had the nerve of doing this to 9 and 10 year olds. after this 5 of my childhood friends jus stopped skateboarding.

I agree, people like that need to be shot/beat. See, we're not trying to disaude young skaters from learning, we're just sick of morons. You know, the people who have mission, ruin skating, and the image of skaters. Just today, I was skating AB, and some lady pulled up, and started giving me and my mates a hard time. I dunno how old she was, maybe her 20's. But she said that skaters destroy everything, and that we should be ashamed of ourselves. I was pretty much shocked. I asked her where she had got this oppinion, and she said, and I quote: "I see damn skaters everyday, the break everything, haven't you seen the movies." It was pretty funny, but sort of sad. This lady was pretty much brainwashed by Hollywood that all skaters are junkies who'd destroy everything they could. That pretty much proves that alot of people can be swayed by what a few people do. So, if they see a couple kids with their cheapo Element decks, keying a car, they're gonna assume that all skaters are like that. And I know you're not trying to argue, you're a pretty cool dude. People who give skaters a bad name disgust me, and people who pick on kids disgust me. But, kids who give skating a bad name, and try to screw over the industry make me sick. I love good discussions. =D And Kick Push Coast, if you ever see those guys again..beat them..with a rock or something. =P

jusfuris
02-12-2006, 06:31 AM
yeah i see your point on that. i just wish "*****" was slung around a little less often. if your only talking about the people that do things like key up cars and vandalize anything they can then by all means put them down! cause they do give skaters a bad name.

id just prefer kids to not call other kids in school a *****, ya know? that just mean and can really hurt some kids feelings. and in turn gives skaters a bad name in the fact that it makes us look like all we do is put people that arent like us down. cause for the most part we already LOOK (to everyone else) like we dont like "jocks", "preps", or the like. so we dont need to go around making it look like we dont like people that look like us too.

i love a good discussion too. and you actually seem pretty cool too. made me think a little more on my previous distase for all that use the word *****.

Kick_Push_Coast
02-12-2006, 07:00 AM
that incident 6 years ago makes me mad even till this day man. those kids were great. we had so much fun. skating in the summer. started in morning and didnt stop till after dark. the reason some of my friends stopped was because of fear. they loved skateboarding but they couldnt skate because of fear. there are so many thugs and gangsters around here that always fuk with skaters. jacking us and threatening to stab us if we dont hand over the cash. throw rocks at us while passing by and kicking the side of the board while we go by them. we cant fight back because they greatly out number us. 3/4's of my friends got sick and tired of shit like this so they jus stopped. society forced them to quit.

I wear abercrombie when i skate. Don't be hatin. People who think they can tell a skater by their clothes are way too materialistic and narrow minded. And i agree with Jusfuris, just cuz someone is decked out with skate brand gear doesn't even mean they want you to think they skate. I've worn vans all my life, even before i knew what a skateboard was. Was i a *****? *****s are people who get cocky, and don't skate for themselves. They don't have to be bad at skating either. In fact, i concider Bam a *****, even though it's common knowledge that he is an incredible skater. A ***** is someone who no-longer skates for their own enjoyment. That or brags about how good they are, and then can't do anything.

That's what I mean. I can't even skate in my neighborhood anymore because some guy (who doesn't skate or support it, he just think s the chicks like skater) wearing Element and DC everything tagged IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, and since he was wearing that, he got skating banned. I guess I was just kind of angry last night and I guess I said some harsh things. If I offended anyone, I'm sorry.

But now, if my neighbors even see my board in the garage, or I skate in my driveway, they call the cops.

And by the way, why do the majority of skaters hate popular people? In my school, everyone hates jocks they aren't popular, but I get along with the popular people, like gangstas (hate their music, but some are just ******* hilarious) and "preps". Idon't fall into either of these categories but am friends with many of each type.

actually i love pac-sun. almost all my clothes come from there. BUT the pac-sun where i live as NO models on the walls, and is actually not bad priced at all. though i only buy stuff when they send me a $25 off of a $50 purchase and the stuff is on sale, so by that time its actually all quite cheap.

Its a shame Skateboarding has come to this. I'm a skateboarder. I don't wear $80 Independant hoodies, or a $30 Zero beenie, or any of that stereotypical bullshit. You can always spot a seasoned skateboarder - Just go to the skatepark and look for somone NOT wearing anything from Pac Sun. Maybe I have a love for skateboarding that 90% of these idiots don't. When I want to skate, I grab my board and skate. People shouldn't have to stop at Pac Sun and spend a half hour wondering which beenie would look cool on them in 90 degree weather, as they fall trying to stand on thier skateboard.

You know what bugs me? ...do you really wanna know?

It's the kids that go around saying "Skate for life", "Skating is my life", "Skate to Live" and other bullcrap like that. We have a few posters on here that are guilty of this.

Why do people have to take it to the extreme? It's a hobby...and just a hobby. Skating is not your life...it's something you do in your spare time. It's nothing more than that.

"Skate to live"...I hope whoever came up with this little slogan is dead. It's stupid...

Sorry...I'm having a bad day...and seeing the signature obove me kinda pushed me over the edge.
