Skateboard as separate luggage so yeah, I’m off to Benidorm on Saturday. Never taken my board through an airline before. It's too big to fit in my luggage bag. So it's going to have to get popped on as a separate item. Just, I’ve heard stories/seen pictures on boards getting massacred in the sorting progress. (Snapped, trucks coming off, wheels coming off) What are your experiences with taking your board on planes? Oh, and if anyone's ever skated Benidorm, if it's even possible. Spots would be nice. I know it's touristy and there won't be much, but heh. Dry weather in Feb. I'm not missing out.

You're going to beat up airport staff? No you're not. Benidorm is on the coast on Spain.

Yeah man should be fine if you take it as a carry on, or strap it to a backpack and carry that on.

I think you can get luggage insurance on your non-carry ons for a few dollars.

Ok, me and Sam Gates had this idea. I was flying to Aruba, and they were gonna charge me $100, too much for me. So he said that I should take it apart, and put the stuff in seperate bags. So next vacation, I put my trucks(with all the stuff) in my dad's bag, with clothes packed around 'em for protection, and my deck in my bag, packed with clothes. But you said you couldn't fit yours in your bag so, that's not really any help.

Thats what i would do take it as a carry-on they wont care as long as you have some thingwrapped around atleast. You know how those god damn people take everything so cautiously. Did you know you can take nailclippers on a plane?

Put it in a box like you would get a board in the mail and pad it up with newspaper and send it under the plane. Hopefully it should be ok but I was able to put it in my bag and carry it between my legs.

I remember when I went to Atlanta. Out luggage got lost, so we were waiting around by the luggage conveyor belt. I looked over to the "irregular luggage" ramp and there was a skateboard. It had a luggage number sticker on the graphic (hope you don't care about that too much if you use it as seperate luggage). I got to skate in the conveyor thingy because nobody else was there and the security guard said he didn't care. That was fun.

... What is that a bad thing? Not taking good looks at what people take on planes is what caused September 11th, would you like that to happen again?
I don't think it would be a problem for it to be a carry on.. but it all depends on the person at the airport you talk to... Just be perpared I guess.

I'm going to Florida, does that count? =P Naw, I've never been on in airplane..in my life. It sounds scary as **** to me. But yeah man, I would stick it in the overhead or something, that'd probably fit it right? Have a good time in Spain, and Steve *Aka Ramprage* I'm coming down to Florida for a week! It's gonna be super steeze, totally rightous. I hope.. e.e

flyings for losers, just get a big cardboard box and make some air holes and get some one to mail you to the place with 'live ape' on the side.

on tv iu have seen people take skateboards on planes, im hoping to take mine to spain on our family holiday this year, im just worried that the air line will see the trucks as a weapon for obviouse reasons or the tail being sharp and thin they may think that could cause harm to..but ive seen people copming threw woith baseball bats so hopefully i should be okay

If you're that worried about your board, get a box and some bubble wrap. You could probably get both at a post office or something.

You can't have a skatebaord in your hand luggage, it's classed as a possible 'terroist wepon'. In England atleast. It's too big to fit in my bag, that's what i was saying. It's looking like wrapping it in bubble-wrap and maybe getting some insurance would be my best bet.

Near Benidorm is a fairly small town called Moraira, there is FULL of skate spots, I mean the whole of Spain is basically one skate street.
